# Lagano : Woah you got a job at STI?! That's amazing, but it doesn't mean that you're not an Evo fan anymore! Actually you made a great choice cause you should learn a thing or two about its rival ;) and because your coworker has a beautiful 86! Also great job on your Evo X, looking good on TE37's just like pretty much every car out there haha. By the way i got my eye on another Evo so i might get it one day :)

And i see that you guys will make some kind of a meeting, i'm still chillin' with Mack and Erwin so i'm in too!

I'm in to find their weaknesses HUEHUEHUE, but hey its god damn fun to tinker around them. I got to assist in one of their breafings about the N24h STi and how bad it performed last year compared to others in their class. (I swear to god I died inside trying to keep myself from telling them the Evo is better)

Can't wait to see you mate, can't wait to see you all.

It is really great to see the Evo Xs lately :) So simple, yet so perfect in looks. Koreans only got the chance to get only the Evos and no Subies at at all, and several parts for 4G63 Evos are even somewhat compatible with Hyundai spare parts, so it is much better regarding the price of maintenance. I think I might look around the Evos around here, since it is a really perfect car to run around Korean touges as well :)

Hyundai has a history of having Mitsu engines with their own design changes, such as the Theta and Genesis engines, both derived from the 4B plataform haha.

Evos are fun both stock and tuned, but I gotta say that there's much more reliable, fun and cheaper cars to run, the Genesis for example (prolly the only Hyundai I appreciate lmao)

For tomorrow's update
A bit of heads up, I'm not gonna cover a lot of the Osaka trip, most likely I'm gonna cover some moments I think they were enjoyable, I'll leave the rest to AJ (RBS13), if he can even type drunk of course.

Sorry for the delay, Mac.

PS: I'm gonna blame it on AJ though because his drunk ass can't do shit.

This week maybe? I ordered some parts for the STi too. I also have to work on Hanteo's Hachi.

But we only need to test fit the Varis hood and bumper, get a tune and repaint it. I can't fucking wait mate.

Update entry 27/04/2019

I'm back at the forums in my annual post (I hope not). Over the past of these 6 months a lot has happened, the CZ4A got mayor updates, cars went in and out of my possesion and other shenanigans, so without further bush bashing:

Sup, I'm Makoto, half Japanese half Caucassian, 22yro and taken ;)
(sorry, I had to take my first ever sentence and re do it)

Yeah, after some years I finally got into a relationship that has its bumps, highs and downs, but if everything was perfect, what would be the fun in it, right? At times I wish I didn't have such problems tho coz it kinda delayed this thing.

AWD Shenanigans

The CZ4A took a big chunk of my money (like 30k or something like that) all because I decided to do it properly, the important bits are.
-HKS 2.2L Stroker kit (from the HKS guys themselves)
-HKS GT3240 Full turbo kit
-HKS Valcom Int/Ext camshafts
-Jun Intake modifications
-Sard 900cc injectors
-HKS Hypermax IV GT coilovers
-AP Racing 6pot/4pot BBK (Sold the Endless kit)
-CE28N's (Sold the TE37's)
-Advan AD08R
-Varis V2 front bumper
-Esprit GT wing (CZ4A only)
-(and loads of things that no one cares and probably what took the most percentage of the expenses)

You might be wondering, why did this thing took so much to be completed? I had loads of trips with said human being I have the title of couple with. If I had to list em all...

-Ibiza, like 3 times or something like that (tbh this was more of a friend thing more than a couple thing)
-Paris
-Milan
-Rome

In Rome some shit happened between my old friends and this girl, at first we were going to my hometown, Madrid, to do other shenanigans together but...

Fleeing to the land of freedom and oversized Maccas portions

Yeah, I got enough of my own problems, and since Phonexius invited me to go to US I decided to go.
The thing is... He invite me a month ago and I declined coz of this shit escapade to drugland, baguetteland and bologneseland. Also, remember when I said my french was shit? You can only imagine the shitfest that was... Anyways, on April 23rd I decided to go to Rome Fiumicino with a direct flight to the land of freedom that has costed me an arm and a leg as a last hour decision. She isn't happy but I am, and rn, that's all I care.

I happened to find AJ, Muza and Edo when I arrived, lucky me (pls tell me that you got this ramen reference). From there, Edo told what we did and shit so no need for me to waste my time writting about it.

Oh, I need clean clothes, pls help.

Too old yet going too strong

Our old boy Hanteo (most known as "STI Sugar Daddy Senpai" according to my S9+ contacts) crashed his 86 on the 86 day in Tsukuba. Now its on Westkyo waiting to be worked. Long story short, he yeeted his 86 on the first turn of Tsukuba too hard too fast, bending the chassis.

Talking about STi, I'm considering leaving it. Not like its shit or anything, I love the place, the thing is that I want to do other things first. Some of em are leaving AJ's crib to my own appartment and fixing my relationship.

That's it for now. Next update will be next week hopefully. Not many pics or dialogue this time.

If someone wants pics of the trip, I can post em on request.

YO HOLY SHIT MAN THE HUMAN LAN EVO IS BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!! :bananajump: :bananajump:

I was truly amazed and awestruck seeing your Evo X now! :O
I can't imagine seeing it growing lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of power and muscle! :-X
I'm totally proud for working on it once, even if it's only for a while.
This thing would destroy so many Tsukuba lap times! Would recommend to enter it to Second class or even better, Turbo class ;)

As for now you can do laundry at the back of the garage I guess :))
Eh but if you want to buy new clothes, I'd be happy to go with you to pick some :D
Your arrival at USA was something we didn't expect either man! Well at least you can escape from all the romance shenanigans for a while......

Tsukuba T1 is quite a car-eater these days, wrong braking point judgement and it's all over. But eh, at least it wasn't the final corner instead.......
Also welp the Subie went off from your hands quicker than expected :( well at least you finally come here with a clean slate of mind. Take your time sorting things out my man :D

Sad to see what happened to Hanteo's 86 but I'm sure it'll be back on the road soon enough.

I still have to decide what to do with the Evo, for now it stays as my street car, after Hanteo's shunt I'm afraid to go do the same with my newly modified CZ lmao.

Also, sorry for now decided a while back, I didn't expect this to happen. Anyways, time to enjoy USA

Update 02/05/2019

So today we're going back some months. focusing on two builds that coincidentally both had the same problem: They couldn't move

EpicLotion Lenovo the Tenth problems

So lets start with the star car of this thread, the Evo.
A lot has changed back then, before I dissapeared I planned to do a lot of stuff for the suspension, fast forward to when this pic was taken (new year), the car got these goodies:

-Unlimited Works Original Rear Toe Arms
-Unlimited Works Original Rear Adjustable Lower Arms
-Unlimited Works Original Pillow ball tie rod ends (hard type)
-HKS Hypermax IV GT (already before)
-Cusco Sway Bars
-Cusco Undertray Braces
-Ohlins/Ralliart Super Taikyu differencials (with the cool ass oil coolers)

Back then Edo was here, he helped my ass by installing all the suspension related mods. Few days later the original engine block and heads of this very CZ came back from the a certain shop located at the foot of Mt. Fuji...

Well, and some other parts from other places but no-one cares

A week later the full thing was in, at this point Edo went back to Tsukuba but he managed to help me mount some parts to the engine with me, AJ came into the fun too after Smokie left, helping me mount the full engine into the car. With all these engine shenanigans I decided to treat myself with better brakes and tyres, brand new ones I'd add, to keep this thing planted onto the ground.

But before we switch to those components, take a look on the engine parts:

-HKS 2.2L Capacity Kit (had to send the block to Shizuoka Prefecture for them to bore and stroke it)
-HKS VALCOM Int. Ext. Cams (With added HKS Uprated Valve Springs, Guides and Retainers)
-JUN AUTO modified Intake Manifold (to fit SARD 1000cc Injectors. Sent the stock int. manifold to JUN for modification)
-JUN AUTO Big Throttle Body (came with the intake manifold)
-SARD 1000cc Fuel Injectors
-JUN AUTO Stainless Exhaust Manifold
-JUN AUTO ECU
-HKS GT320R Turbo kit (with the special big capacity version of the HKS Type R intercooler found in the CT220S)
-Exedy Triple Metallic Clutch Kit (good for a 1000hp but it has recommended range of 650 to 780)
-Exedy Lightweight Flywheel
-HKS Mushroom Air Intake
-HKS SSQV IV BOV
-Kansai Service Intake Air Box
-ARC Radiator (with silicone hoses from HKS and with a ARC Radiator cap)
-HKS D1 Oil Cap (cool little detail I decided to add)
-Tomei Catch Can
-Custom Final drive

Now we can get into talking about the new brakes. AP Racing 6/4pot BBK with AP Racing Carbon Pads are the choice for this build. TBH I could had use the stock rear brakes and 4 pots at front but I like to go overkill with the brakes. The shorter it takes to brake, the better. If you're asking where the Endless BBK went, I sold em.

Next off the list are CE28N's (10,5 ET+18 all around) and Advan AD08R tyres (R18 265/35). This tyre/rim choice are legendary on Evos and it shows how it performs on the track. Others use Bridgestone RE71's (also known as cheat codes, forbidden fruit, and more nicknames in Hot Version) to gain a little more of an edge over everyone. As for myself, I like the feeling of AD08R's more in this car but that doesn't mean I don't prefer the RE71's on other vehicular units. The TE37's with the old worn Advans were sold.

Little detail, Angel headlights, I thought of adding little details like these onto the car. After this last mod the car was sent for alignment and a engine tune. It makes 626whp and 561ft/lb on normal gas and the redline is at 8.5k rpm. Sounds soooooo good. After the headlight alignment the car got its stock body kit and got its Shaken Sticker, barely passing the car height and the sound decibels test.

Fast forward some months and the body mods started to come in. First the FQ400 vented rear bumper, fresh from the UK (or from some wanker's crashed rare AF CZ4A), at first I wasnt really a fan of the FQ400 look but I must admit that the rear bumper looks so cool. Fun fact, the original kit wasn't made by Mitsubishi, it was made by Wald. Mitsu tested FQ400 parts on the 2008 Super Taikyu Ohlins CZ4A (the Grid 1 Evo X for those who don't recall it) before they put em onto the road car.

Next one is a bit sentimentally special. Muza's and AJ's Xmas gift, the Varis Super Taikyu V2 Front Bumper and Hood. Thanks guys I love y'all. On the background you can see a Esprit CZ4A GT wing that completes the whole aero on the LanEvo for now. The wing is the same as the HKS CZ220S.

Bonus pic, looks so killer like this. I almost forgot to mention that I added Recaro Pole Positions and a Nardi Deep Corn Steering wheel. The Momo Montecarlo rim was sold too.

And to the paintshop it went... I think we can move on to the next car.

The reason why the Sexually Transmitted Infection was sold

Yup, this is Ward's S15, the one and only. I bought it for 6k. Current spec sheets are:
-Vertex Edge Kit
-Work Emotion XT7's
-Worn Advan AD08's
-R34 brakes all around
-KSport Kontrol Pro Coilovers
-Bride Zeta III seats
-A blown SR20DET with smiley pistons

Its such a shame that because of excesive boost the lower end blew up, but at least there's no damage on the block, the head however... Let's leave it at that. Plans for this thing are going to be a full Tomei/HKS SR22 and some aesthetic changes changes, maybe after a while, change the coils to something more JDM-ish, maybe going back to the stock body, who knows.

That's it for now, much loves from the Kami garage.

BOI the Evo X is indeed a proper track destroyer with those specs.....I'll say it again, I'm proud to be able to work on this car for a while :D

Also it's time to bring up the JDM traditional hotboi scale with the S15......I have a good feeling it'll be yet another mad, top quality build ;)

@BigSmoke: Glad you're proud of working on my Evo, you just had to return the favor after making me help you assemble and put the engine in you Evo. And the S15 is going to be another big project that I want to focus on, maybe send another engine to Mt. Fuji to be forged by the JDM gods. Aanyways, are you up for a Tsukuba shootout after the USA trip with our AWD monsters?

@Lagano: Well tbh with Ward's long ass absence we can only guess what happened to his cars. If I remember correctly, he blew his engine in a drift/hooning session, I'm not sure.

I always wanted a Silvia to do whatever shenanigans with but I never found the money nor the time to do anything (cough Muza's old S13 cough). I want the S15 to change that and as of now its my No. 1 priority. Also, sorry for giving you a heart attack.

@Sleepin mOnkey: Yeah they both are insane but they could be better. Gimme some time to make the best out of em.

@Soju: I wanted it to be more special than other Evos around hehe, the thing is still lacking some personality but that can be fixed in no time.

About the S15, every car has potential, some has more, some has less, but you can do pretty much everything you want with any car tbh. Imagination is the limit

@Asahi: Yo thanks, they aren't as clean as your R34 is going to be though

@Niatross: Don't be jelly coz of five horses, you have a lighter car anyways and besides, a MK3 is better than a CZ in the eyes of pretty much everyone lmao. Want to help me on the SR20 rebuild when we come back home?

Update 03/05/2019

Back to back updates, it's a rare sight to see me doing updates two days straight, y'all might want to call the mental health institution and claim I went insane. Jokes aside, I did a financial ruin decision... Or did I?

Gas guzzling investments and more broke shenanigans

So what does this late 1960's four door sedan have to do with any of my projects, moreover, how could I afford this 1960's stallion? My friends, lemme introduce you to my (or Bank of Japan's for now) new toy: 1967 Chevrolet Impala Sedan.

With only 4 550 V$ in the bank, the only way I can pay this is by monthly payments of 3 000 V$, down payment is 4 000 V$. Worry not my lads, I can still sustain myself with only 500 V$ to spare a week for 8 months (and I can send more money if I want to make the process faster), what you see in my finances are the net paycheck, not the brute paycheck.

Anyways, these cars get sold in Japan for about double the price. You could just buy one in the states and then export it like people do with JDM cars, but no one likes to do costy paperwork, right? If you're wondering how much did this thing cost me, 28 000 V$ (with all the export and registration shit). I plan to sell it for about 48 000-50 000 V$ making net earnings of potentially 20 to 22k V$. Oh and the only thing I need to do on this car put the front fender chrome trims. The rest of the trim is also included but as the owner said, it looks better without the rest of it.

If you're wondering how an engineering student suddenly became such a economics master, my gf (which is an economics student) and I already had something like this planned and despite we aren't in good terms as of now, we're pushing on with this. Money does kinda fix relationships after all.
(The truth is that the reason why I didn't go to Madrid is because I found this offer, and not because of the problems my family and her family has)

(Actual ad picture)

Well, let's start with how things started. I found the offer in Rome days before comming to USA, after some talking we both decided to go for it. We're doing this to be able to live under the same roof. Anyways...

The trip to this 40 to 50 yro man's house started with some Google Maps and public transportation... well, cabs or taxis. We all know how much America's buses and subways are shit and as a former avid user of one of the best public transport in the world, I can only frown and pity on these lads for not letting the solution to their city formation problems go do its work.

At around 10 am I finally arrived to this man's house lost in the caracteristic american suburbs. Of course, as if this was Gran Torino, there was a house that had the US flag proudly placed outside... only to have a family of foreigners next door. Talk about coincidence. I found it quite cool tbh, kids and teens alike outside doing whatever americans do on a saturday morning, 60 yro people taking care of their plants looking at you with a serious face only to greet you with a smile (and prolly emanate so much happiness because of retirement) and soccer moms shouting from their minivan to take her children to football practice.

The former owner of this behemoth, named Jack (Jackie for friends and family) was waiting outside with the car already prepared for a test drive. He seemed to be a good father of three who's passionate about old american cars.

The story of this car was like this, his father bought the 1967 Impala Sedan with the 327 CI Turbo-Fire engine making 325hp for him to use as a daily. At the time the car was beige with matching beige steelies with chrome hubcaps and with all the chrome trim around the wheel wells. Back then, Jack and her sister were kids.

The 1970's comes and the arabian oil embargo happens, making such oil crisis affect the way cars were made. Low quality american econoboxes were now having to compete with rising econobox kings Toyota and Honda for sales in the US, Muscle and Pony cars were nerfed to sub-par, sub 300hp boxes based on said econoboxes, and the idea of going with a muscle to high school dissapeared. But not in Jackie's and his father's minds.

So the family pair set their sights on doing the North American car culture justice by converting this car to a SS model. They started when Jack was 16, with a new car license and lots of hope, the two sourced some race suspension parts from a 67' Chevelle and the 427 CI Turbo-Fire V8 engine from a 67' Impala SS Coupe and proceeded to bolt it onto the sedan. Why tf would someone do this? Think about japanese teens who loved cars in the Lost Decade era.

(Actual ad picture)

The only thing that kept it looking like the original sedan his dad bought was the beige color, but he didnt care much as the American Racing 5-Spoke rims, the lowered height and the ear deafening engine made the thing cooler than no-one could ever be with their Ford Pintos. No need to guess how the normal looking kid became the party's spotlight, but he did it for another reason: To enjoy big V8 adventures with his best friend in his AMC Javelin, the rest was just secondary effects of having this drug under his possesion.

After two decades of owning the car his beloved father died. The passion red paintjob was in memory of him, who had a 50's Bel Air Impala of the same color. The beige interior was kept as his dad was really fond of it. From a buyer's perspective, this just adds more personality to the mix, and the smoke stain on the roof textile of the interior is pretty much enough proof of that.

And add another two decades, Jackie's health has deteriorated enough that he has to sell his car for 23k. This passionate car enthusiast is now forced to sell his loved car to afford treatment and its sad, he wants to sell it to someone who can understand his passion, either a car collector or someone who drives it more, doesn't matter to him as long as the future owner is as passionate too. He even gave me his contact info to keep him updated about his car. For a car that has been maintained and loved 23k is just a steal, but he needs the money fast and I need to earn money.

And after the initial inspection, talk and test drive, the hands met and shaked.

After an hour drive I arrived at Lagano's and Ben's warehouse with a new vehicular unit to add into the temporary inventory. But it would be no fun to enter at 10 kph in an obnoxious almost 70's Impala, and so I kicked the clutch, drifted into the entrance and giving basically everyone inside a fucking heart attack. After apologizing and talking about this car's story this thing proceeded to get further inspection and no problems were found.

And this is the story of how I got this Impala. I'll see y'all on the next update.

That's how you properly enjoy a trip in the States! B) Awesome Impala you got there, with the upgraded engine and suspension it's pretty much an SS!

YO HOLY S**T you scared the s**t out of me when you enter the garage......I thought there was an earthquake hitting our place :))

But dang, what a purchase you got there, complete with a heart-touching and inspiring background story O:-)
You gotta keep it immaculate so the spirit of it's former owner lives on in your hands and heart :D
Well, until you sell it again that is. But trust me, it's quite a keeper ;)
Still following the damn train since 1992

Little update. I found a buyer for the Impala (the story behind it is a good selling point). I already sent Jackie the rest of the money and 2k more as he really needs it.

'Who's the new owner?' You might be wondering, find out when I come back to Japan.
