Hey there!
My name is Brandon. I am living in LA. I used to come on here a few years ago, had to make a new account. Welcome to my build thread. Street style/early 2000's drift cars are my favorite, but I will be doing all kinds of builds. I'm going to be doing some "quick" builds first, as to flip the cars and save up for better ones! Now I'll get you up to speed with where I'm at: I picked up this 240sx recently. I had to haggle to get it for V$2500 The car came with blown coilovers. Body was straight, but the paint had gone dull and clear coat had started to fog up from sitting outside in the so-cal sun. Interior is immaculate other than the seats, which are ripped and faded. It runs... but the KA does not run healthy. So I'll have to go into troubleshoot mode and figure out if it's worth it to fix or if I need to swap a new motor in. (Which won't be anything crazy, just going to clean this car up and sell it.) So I got started. Borrowed a friend's pignose lip to test fit... It doesn't really look right and it doesn't fit well so I'll probably just try to find a full aftermarket kit. Might as well upgrade. (And with 240 prices around here the modified ones are worth more!) Also I'll show my daily, since I'm probably going to throw a few things at it and flip it as well. Probably won't be able to resist slamming it lol. Stupid california cars and their faded a** paint. Oh well, better than rust! So anyways, I got some replica mirrors on eBay for V$100: Kinda cheap but they will be painted and turn out nice. Started buffing the hood and roof: And that's where I'm at for now. Here's a to-do list: -Get it running -Buff the paint -Order new coilovers/wheels -Aero -Final cleanup/painting of aero -Post it for sale! |

Good luck with the 240 build man! It looks like it needs a lot of polish or even paint.
Also, it's rather unusual to see a Bora here, and I like it! |

That SC300 looks tempting! However it has a salvage title so keep an eye out for any issues.

The salad shooters fits the car nicely, I love it!
I'd say at least polish the car or indeed repaint it if you want to sell it as well |

Loads of potential on your builds man! that nutty fitment on the Bora, the cleanliness of that SC, and ofc the empty slate 240sx that is ready to be tinkered!
Waiting on more progress |

SR swapped MS13, that's a pretty lucky find, most SR 240s are usually seen with bent frames or with cheap shit done to it. Might need a wilder kit to compliment those Blitz 03s though.
Keep going on the JZS161! Aristo badges perhaps? And I'm biasing towards the black housings, MUCH more aggressive imo. But I hope you do a projector conversion down the line! And about the Bora, lolol not messing with your daily is literally the hardest thing to do. Looking damn fine with the salad slicers though. |

# BigSmoke : Aristo/GS400 is a cool choice for a daily, let alone a lowered one! Agreed! I have some on the way from AOW Thanks man # Soju : I really like how the truck looks! It's so fresh I know I want it! D: Some day I'll get my own # Niatross : Loads of potential on your builds man! that nutty fitment on the Bora, the cleanliness of that SC, and ofc the empty slate 240sx that is ready to be tinkered! Thanks man! Appreciate the kind words. Unfortunately I sold the Jetta and traded the 240 for my GS (OORP - save corrupted lol ) I'll get another eventually though! # RocketBunnyS13 : SR swapped MS13, that's a pretty lucky find, most SR 240s are usually seen with bent frames or with cheap shit done to it. Might need a wilder kit to compliment those Blitz 03s though. Yeah and I stupidly traded it! Lol... But it's okay I'm loving the GS And I agree, I went with the black housings instead # jdmkvng : Your new car is looking promising #stancelife Thank you sir! Waiting on aero is killing me My buddy came by the other day to bring me some spare 18's he had from a genesis. They look ok, still waiting for parts to arrive. Need to order some arms for more camber I love the color of his car I took it out to a big parking lot to test how the car felt sideways. Driving a W58 5spd luxury sedan felt really cool. But she's a boat. Need some arms for a better alignment! And seats... I was flying all over the place as I was drifting. Overall I'm loving it. The testing re-assured me that it's going to be a good street car that I can drive to the track. Money pit time! I'll update when I get more stuff. And the customer's wheels came in for the truck so I'll try to remember to take pics of that as well. |

Thanks man! Wheels came in from AOW last week. I was busy doing some stuff so I waited to update. Aero also came in today! So I'll post pics of that later... And I'll be going to look at some cars for sale
Put a new carpet in, installed some used seats/wheel I picked up locally. Didn't even want to take test fit pics, I went and just got tires mounted and here's how she sits Ordering NRCA's today so I can dial in the fitment better. I'll update later after I finish the aero! |

Selecting Bride seats is definitely a wise choice! They're comfy for long trips and recommended by a lot of people here
Carpets nicely compliments the seats as well, interior looks bright and fresh! Out of curiosity I checked up used US classic car prices. I found out that meticulously restored classic trucks can worth a lot of cash Of course there are some that is cheap as well. I'd say get one of those, restore them as neat as you could and either sell them for cash or keep them as a workhorse/parts truck |

# Niatross : Ayeee minervas! the rears are just a tad too deep for my taste, but overall, they fit the GS well! good progress man Yes not really my style either, they are too deep without step lip! I was only looking for the front pair, but AOW found me a whole set. So I'll probably get the rears re-lipped or find another pair of something else! So today I installed the vertex finally! Oh and a customer came by Benny's shop to pick up some coilovers. He had a nice stock s14 I asked if it was for sale but he kinda just laughed and said maybe... So after fitting the bumpers I went to go check out a car for sale. Clean 240sx. Was clean but not fully sure if I want another one. I had 2 and haven't even finished one yet lol. But I want to put together a cool street car to cruise around in. Then I could use it as leverage in a future trade maybe? Or try and make some profit. But he's asking 4.5k. NA SR, 5mt. I would just keep the motor stock... Pic of my gs outside Then headed back to benny's shop to throw on the under canards. Also you can see here I upgraded to LS400 big brake kit in the front. Painted the calipers red to match the interior. We made up a new rear section of the exhaust earlier too. I don't like when it's on both sides, looks too VIP, which is not what I'm going for. I can deal with the extra hole lol. I also picked this thing up for V$500. 91 940 turbo m46 manual. Gonna use it as a lil thrasher missile car. All stock just cut springs and a manual boost controller at 14psi. My 326power NRCAs should be in soon, to fix my front fitment. Then I guess I'll start thinking about paint. So what do you guys think? Should I pick that hatch up? Do a cool street car... Or maybe try and look at some more cars for sale and see if I can find anything else cool... |

Fuckkk I didn't realize the coupe was gone. Gonna miss it dearly, hope you snag another one in the future!
On the other hand, the GS is getting better as you go on, like fine wine that tastes better with age. The tank missile is rad too, something different. (I am also the devil whispering into your ear saying "GO AND COP THAT 240") |

Imagine people seeing in surprise and disbelief when they see a tank like that flying sideways in front of them...... Also finally the GS looks so, so solid! |

Thanks guys! Haven't had time to update these last 3 weeks but I'll catch you up on what I've been up to.
Between customer cars I've been spending my spare time painting the car. Pretty much just sanded down the silver and sprayed on a white primer base. Didn't need too much bodywork as the car was clean. Ended up going with Signal Red... S15 color code. Sold my minervas, they looked cool but don't really suit my style with this car. Picked up a set of XT7 locally instead, imo monoblock wheels on big body is the best. After I finally got the car together I took some photos. Absolutely love the way it came out. Installed the 326power NRCA and Serial999 arms. Also this A4 wagon came into the shop after being wrecked. We pulled all the broken sh*t off it, hopefully can make a deal with the guy to get it for cheap. Would be a rad parts hauler/shop car. Thinking about going 2JZGTE in the gs400/aristo. What do you guys think? I'll update tomorrow with some customer builds I've been involved with. Also drifting this weekend! This post was edited by DEADMANE (2019-02-21 10:12, ago) |

Your Lexus turned out looking surprisingly good! Well i think the Minervas fitted better on it cause of the VIP style but the XT7s are a very unusual choice for a big sedan like this, they make it look quite special along with the flashy red paintjob! Why would you 2JZ swap it though? Judging by the fitment i wouldn't say this will be a "go fast" car or something. If it's a GS400 i assume you have a 1UZ in there which is also a great engine, and after all you're in America so you gotta have some V8 rumble. That Audi seems like an interesting project but fixing up newer cars like that can get very complicated and expensive. But hey, you would end up with a very reliable daily driver, it all depends on its condition!
Added 1 minute later: Also dual exhaust pipes would look so much better on the Lexus because of the bumper |

Here's the update I promised on shop stuff. That guy who came to Benny's with the gold s14 came back, requesting a mild street car build.
He was already running coilovers we supplied for him. We installed instant gentleman, uras exsol 18x9/18x9.5, dmax fenders, and seats/wheel. Benny let me set up the fitment on this one. imo tuccing the rear is essential for street car 240 Just waiting on a few things, and for the customer to decide on a color. But, now, what I've been hiding I have saved a bit of cash, and have been wanting to try importing some cars to sell. These are the first 2 cars i bought to start my importing adventure! I'm hoping to make enough from these to be able to bring a couple more in ER34 skyline sedan. NA RB, grade 4, would be a cool street cruiser/daily. Need to lower it, it's been sitting like this since it came to the port. Car came with some old hks coils, rpf1, some arms in the front. everything else is stock. Going to swap some wheels and dial in fitment/maintenance then it will be up for sale On to the next one. EK9 civic type r It came over this way. I want to say it was an ex-kanjo car, that was being used for time attack and track races. But I have no idea, seems too clean, might just be a copy. Regardless, it's a rad lil car Benny and I will go through it and make sure everything is up to spec. Then it's ready for sale... might take it on some drives though can't resist haha My car is just sitting pretty. Haven't had the chance to take it to an event yet This post was edited by DEADMANE (2019-02-25 14:06, ago) |
