# Soju :

Just a little update. Swapped those Chuki OEM wheels into Type-X wheels which were lying around in the storage, which somehow makes it "period-correct".

It's really lightweight, and has barely any safety features, which makes spirited driving much more entertaining!

Those pop-up lights look really good, a clear evidence of 20th century.

Also, further details on this pop-up buddy later on. :)

Ah... this RX7. Please update :)
S-Chassis' do look great and tasty !

Here We Go Again

So... yeah. I kinda bought the '88 FC RX-7 from the Facebook tuner community in Korea. Long story short, I brought something rather unexpected.

Well, I was scrolling through some Facebook page, and found out that the FC was kinda lying around somewhere near Daegu and it was for sale around V$ 6500.

FDs are relatively common to find, but FC... is a whole different story.

Some 1st generation JDM tuners around early '00s were known to use FCs for rotary engine research. It's basically a piece of Korean tuner history.

Mr. Yoon, the owner, was maintaining the car relatively well. Let's say it is "preserved", regarding the condition and rarity of these here in Korea.

It was running well and nothing much showed any problems besides the old tires and the bushings, and some hose leaks.

Drove all the way back to Seoul for 3 hours, and this is what I got in the first place.

Front, the Watanabe wheels. Not bad for these 80's cars I guess.

Rear, the SSR mesh wheels. Not bad either, retaining its classic look.

As I mentioned before, the tires were old ones, so it will be replaced as I settle down and finish the documents and insurance completely.

The interior was pretty much basic, luckily not stripped to the bare metal, having most stock trims and fabric.

Only the driver's side seats were replaced with those Bride Brix seats. I guess the seats were once replaced, since it looks fairly new.

It somehow shows that this rotary is carrying some turbo under its hood. I have to check the whole engine since I couldn't feel any of the boost or lag.

And those fugly looking license plate. The sign of mid-00's when design was not considered at all.

I am not lying, those are actual license plates back then. Thank god it changed after few years with those better looking white ones.

I think it sits really nicely. Not too showy, not too "stock" which shows a perfect balance. I guess I found a nice rotary project after all :)

What a nice find! FCs are definitely getting rare. Why does the plate look bad though? Don't you have a similar one on your 180SX?

I agree on the watanabes, maybe getting another pair would be next plan?

It was supposed to be the "revised" version of what 180SX has, but the fonts they used are just not right and didn't quite match all cars back then.

But those green plates mean something old-school among Korean tuners, maybe I could keep them, who knows :)

# Nightrunner : What a nice FC!

Thank you!

# radcoon : I'd go all SSR's :) Nice one! And please keep the 13b!

SSR's also look nice and clean, of course keeping those triangles under the hood!

A little update for the FC. I found a pair of used watanabes for V$ 600 and I was quite lucky to find the same size.

The FC was in the storage for one or two weeks and it didn't look good enough, but it is a still fun and interesting car to drive.

I headed to the bay down to the peninsula for a short trip.

...And I reached the bay to get some stuff I ordered from Japan.

It looks really nice even during the night!

Arrived at the place that I needed to pick some stuff up. I guess I have to check the engine, since I completely forgot to do it.

Super Toyota

The reason why I went to the bay with my FC was to bring some stuff I was planning to install on the Supra.

The Supra was also in the garage for weeks, and I ordered Mr. Lee and 11K to take care of it while I was away.

While I was away, I requested some new paint cover-up for carbon fiber parts of the Supra so it could look more uniform.

I just hoped those painted carbon fiber part colors stand up very strangely, but the result actually came out much better than I expected.

The SSR wheels were also sand-blasted and painted with satin black paint, giving cleaner, sleek look.

Also, I borrowed some R888 tires from 11K and traded it with the Michelin Pilot ones.

I also adjusted the coilovers a bit to give more comfort to the Supra since I was not using it as a highway slayer since August...

Maybe I could probably drive as a "partial" daily in the future.

I got these TRD "Griffon" Edition Zeta III seats in Japan for V$ 1800 for my Supra for some TRD treatment.

The old Vios III and the normal Zeta III are now waiting to be shipped to another customer. Sold!

Having a targa top Supra was a big advantage that I could just pop the roof open and enjoy the open-air ride, but not this time.

Taking care of this almost 700HP monster, I realized it is time to install the roll cage.

I could have shipped this car to MACKAY and have this car done in his garage, but he seemed too busy with his team. Sorry bud!

So I rolled up my sleeves and worked by myself with the help of 11K and Mr. Lee.

Mr. Lee did all the welding, 11K did the polishing and paintjob, I did the cutting and finding right diameter, strength, and the thickness of the tubular steel. It was a tough work!

Also, I took the HKS pattern from the Nardi steering wheels, and put this super cool decal and horn set.

Therefore, the Supra now looks cleaner, and I guess stronger as well. :)

Damn, that Supra is just a beauty, can't wait for the day when I can drive next to your car on the highway! Yeah, we are currently working our asses off, but looking at the pictures you sent me, the welds and all that fabrication looks top notch! You know who to tell if you ever gonna need FIA certificates or some shit confirming that the cage is solid one as somehow I feel guaranteed by your job guys, amazing! Also that black bits on your car looks so good to, especially those wheels.

Thanks for all the compliments for the Supra! For several days, 11K and I were preparing some stuff lately.

I helped getting the spare parts for the SR20 (of course for the Silvia as well) and fitting those parts without any issues.

I was saving some cash for the trip to Japan with 11K, but i got these nice pair of OEM projection headlights from Japan, costing about V$ 400.

Tbh the price of those OEM parts are getting out of hands these days, but I just gotta deal with it.

He brought one of his E36s and took it for a drive today. Yes, it is SR20 swapped E36 and it was a big pain in the ass building it with 11K and Mr. Lee.

However, it does look really gorgeous, I can assure it is one of the best E36s regarding the aesthetics and the performance.

We headed to the garage to drink and chill with Mr. Lee as well.

I can't wait to see Japan again :)
