Inspecting The Damage

I had some free time today so I decided to try find out what was wrong with the engine. I started tearing it down and eventually did a compression test and found out the issue....cylinder 5's compression is 70. Obviously thats wayyyy too low so this is engine is gonna get swapped.

Of course, the engine was very clean too

I then went on Yahoo auctions and found a 2JZ-GTE for sale for Y216,000 which is pretty cheap tbh, when it arrives I will re-do all the gaskets just so I know they are good. Also bought Tein Mono Sport coilovers for Y134,000 and a Chargespeed carbon wing for Y148,000, imo a good find. Can't wait for them to arrive.

Looks kinda weird with the engine out of, but on to better things.

Ahh.. And I had hopes that I could convince you to go fully built NA motor with ITB's, something similar to the one that was featured on super street magazine few years ago, the owner of that SZ is Brendan, maybe you have heard about him before as he kinda went viral with his build imo. But now it is too late I guess, I am still happy about your choice tho, as you will probably be one of the few which might be able to keep up with me haha.

The Blitz

so this was kinda unexpected.

I was picking up my Chargespeed wing and Tein coilovers today when I got a call from Haru. He told me that they had just got a brand new JZA80 Supra Blitz bodykit in stock (he works in RHDJapan in Osaka) and was wondering would I want it before they put it on sale...

...of course I had to get it.

After a good 6 hour long drive I had gotten the kit and surprisingly fit it all in the Tico. Spent another hour putting it on and....

I'm very happy with it :>
I had planned to get a kit later on but I couldn't turn this down because it was such a good offer. Its also tucking in the rear since I lowered it a small bit more after the coils had settled.

I've also started to prep the car for paint, radcoon also came over and helped get it ready.

Later on I took the 86 out for a drive since the weather is really nice recently, its fun to have a small, light car that can go around any corner with ease. Need to paint both of these things now :/.

More soon, engine should arrive tomorrow hopefully.

Nice progress on both of them. I am always waiting somebody calling up to get me something unexpected. But that's high class moaning.
The Kit suits the Supra perfectly imo. Now it needs to be as fast as it looks!

Oh man, what a kit it is, now it looks kinda strange, but I know one thing for sure, when that car gets done, everything will be painted in the same color and new wheels will be put it will look fire af, we are going back to the early 2000's, let try to make the car scene like it was before, oh, my dreams.. Can't wait to see that car rolling along my GTR on expressway.

Yeah it does look kinda strange but any car like this would lol
Early 2000s is what most of my cars are centered around the so I aim to try relive it if you wanna say that lol
Some time, some time we will be racing together...just gotta wait.

Dat fitment on the Supra tho :P

Great choice for the bodykit but that wing looks kinda weird with it, it's huge. Or maybe just because it's not painted yet.

Reveal thingy idk

so the Supra has changed since I last posted properly. The 2JZGTE was swapped in easily and has been running fine, like it should after new gaskets and fluids. The same day, me and radcoon went to Mackay and Erwin's garage for a while. It was really good fun, Erwin brought us out for a ride in his drift-taxi ER34. Its odd having bucket seats in the back but, I enjoyed it.

This was taken after the final coat of primer was on. You can see it come together when its all one color.

And then the final color. In the end I went with a NSX original color, Imola Orange Pearl. Picked it as a homage to the Chargespeed demo Supra tbh.
The paintjob cost Y134,275 which isn't bad considering its a pearl color. Thanks to Mackay for telling me to paint it here, came out really good.

Also the first time showing it off with the new wheel - Volk Racing F-Zero Challenge in 18". I found these for sale for Y223,792 which is kinda steep for rims but these are lightweight, rare and look good.

And that's pretty much it for the visual side of things. Now that it looks good I can focus on the performance side of things more.
Big thanks to Mackay, Erwin and radcoon for helping to get the Supra ready for paint and just helping getting everything right in the engine bay etc.
I'm also looking at an Ebisu practice car, a R32 Skyline GTST from hugap. Hopefully I can buy it from him, I was looking for one tbh.
More when something happens.
