Hello, I introduce myself.
My name is Nobuhiko Hashimoto, I am 22 years old and I am a native of Saitama, although I now live in Sawamatsukura, Nihonmatsu-shi, in the Fukushima Prefecture.

I love cars, I love drift, Touge for the mountains, all the JDM culture, After 3 years of hard work I managed to raise 2,257,940 ¥ (V$ 20000) and I've been wanting for quite some time to have a Drift Project, for practice drifting and modifying my car to go detecting faults I find when I practice, to improve the car and my ability.

So last weekend I went to Ebisu with my old teenage friend (Hugap / 90's runner) and we started to practice, since I did not have a car, i rented one in the circuit for 28230¥ (250V$) ...

A 1992 Nissan Skyline "GTS-T" HCR32

The car had coilovers, a swap of a RB25DE, larger brakes and a hydraulic hand brake, a pretty basic setup to learn, and hugap not to damage the bodykit of his Skyline HCR32 (he had one too lol), he rented an AE86 Trueno Notchback

Hugap and an instructor taught me the basics and from there I went practicing.

A few laps came out quite well, although with the weight of the car it was a little complicated, I had too much grip in the front, making the turns difficult, but not anything. very exaggerated

I had a great time, enjoyed this day and helped me learn the basics of the drift, so now I have to look for a car as a starting point to start running ...

What car do you recommend for drift? Do you have a car to sell that interests me? (it has to be rwd)

This is all for today! See ya!

It is not mine, I rent it in Ebisu to practice, since I do not have a car rwd
I didn't have a car , cuz y previous car (a 92 civic) was involved in a accident and doesn't worth the money for repairing it and pass shaken)
That's why I ask them if they have any recommendations or if they sell a rear-wheel-drive car.

I could sell you a RB26 swapped S14 if you want, i'd say it's a bit too much to handle for you though. And since you're from Saitama you could visit your homeland again and get a nice S14 in Yashio! ;)

I've seen your s14 , Is a really nice car , but i think is too much for me , a noob with an rb26dett rwd silvia isn't looking good , i can afford it , but i will crash it for sure , and crashing a really nice and built car will be expensive af and if i crash an rb26 built s14 , i will cry until i will die , and my wallet too lol

You got another car or you saw a good car for sale?

I'm looking for the typical first car for drift , something like an S13 , S14 , S15 Spec-S, a cheap R32 GTS-T , a cheap R33 GTS-T, an AE86, something stock or with little mods. Something cheap to buy , mantain and repair if i crash

Now buying your car will be a bad decision because i will destroy it practicing cuz i'm a noob , But someday i will buy your s14 , Is a really nice car , and i want it , but is too much for me (not the price , the car lol)
But when i got my car if u want we can drive or go to ebisu

And i think that i found the perfect car...

S13 or S14 is cheap (S15 is more expensive) for starter drifting also you could find and buy 350Z, as I suggest get 350Z they will last longer (they don't have rocker type thing like SR20 have one) and easier to drifting if you do suspension set up correctly. 350Z was pretty nice to drive, you could felt torque and power kicking already, I owned LHD 350Z and I really like them than S13 or S14.

Also, 350Z pretty like most engine swapping than s-chassis, thanks larger and roomy engine bay design.

Nope , Those cars are rented in the circuit , you don't want to damage ur 32 or Silvia, for that reason you rented the 86. and i rented the 32 because i don't have a car in that moment

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New projects!
As you knew, I was looking for cars to buy, I needed a car for daily use and another for project ...

So I found this car in the classifieds ...

A 1991 Nissan Silvia K's, In very good condition, the car had 15-inch mesh wheels, some coilovers, almost new paint, the interior in good condition and the SR20DET No-Intercooled working well
Besides, he approved the inspection, so I can use it without problems

I bought it for 618,000 ¥ (5500V$), so it was a good deal ...

After 15 minutes of driving home, my friend arrived bringing a car to buy in the morning ...

A 1986 Toyota Corolla AE86 Levin Kouki, in pretty bad shape, almost rolling chassis

The interior is stripped, they just left the seat and the steering wheel to tow it.

The engine does not work and has the damaged head gasket, will try to repair it and start it

Also missing the front panels and has some steelies since my friend sold the old stockies of this car and I had to buy steelies with used tires to move it.
Although it is not so bad, it has a bit of surface rust, but most is dirt only cuz this car were sitting for about 3 years, I bought for 208,000 ¥ (1850V$ including things like the wheels, yes, it seems a lot, but an ae86 in good condition is above 700000 ¥, so it's not that bad)

I will need to buy the following things:

The previous owner has several parts of the car saved, if he finds one he will give it to me, although he sold the majority, he sure has some parts that were left out there ...

Then I will start to modify the car, first I want to make it pass and register it, then I will start to modify it

Stay Tuuuneeeed!

DING DING DINGGGGG
I was going to buy a r33 gts-t or an 350z, but I was going to cry if I destroyed it by practicing or using it daily, so I bought something cheaper, and the ae86 took advantage of that car my friend was selling it, so, guys, here they are!

AE86 Update

As you know, yesterday morning I bought an AE86, which needed a lot of work, but nothing that we could not solve

Yesterday my friend brought me the windows and told me that he had all the front panels of an Kouki AE86 Levin GT-APEX that was hit from behind, that the front panels were intact, and that he also had the headlights intact, although the lower turn signals were damaged (chipped) and he threw them in the trash
I bought the panels and lights for ¥ 197,000 ($ 1750) and we assembled them at home.

Also take the opportunity to remove the engine and remove important parts such as transmission, clutch, flywheel, intake, radiator, exhaust, etc.
I left the block with the stock, because I will buy another engine and put those parts on it, since I do not want to deal with the problems of this engine, I'm sure I'll sell it in the classifieds, attentive if they want a 4AGE for a low price ...

And we washed the car for about 3 hours cleaning all the 2 year dirt , debris and tons of birds poop, and now i see a big difference!

Here's before

And here's the after

Now looks so much better , but still needs paint and fix little spots of rust but nothing too bad, I already seem to have another completely different car, It does not look like my car ...

And before you ask, No, I will not swap SR20DET or 1JZ-GTE or LS now, I'll just buy another 4AGE, it's a Bluetop, but in good condition and rebuilt 25000km ago, I bought it in Yahoo Auctions and i paid for ¥ 180000 ($ 1600 , only block, cylinder head with all the internals , No alternator , No Intake , No exhaust , etc , that's why i parted out my engine until i left the block and the cylinder head , for reusing this parts)
And now I will pick it up, in the meantime I will buy a new intake, a new radiator (since mine has oil and coolant there for more than two years), New spark plug wires, new spark plugs, oil, oil filter, an oil cooler , the missing interior parts and some other thing if I need something ...

Yeah , that's the point of learning to drift !
We are finishing to install the parts of the broken engine into the new engine and some parts are new , later we gonna install it and take a brake lmao, I will start to search a good gas tank for my car , because mine is in good shape but got some spots of rust , if i can find one tank for the ae86 and the interior parts missing i wil attempting to inspection today or morning...
This is really easy if u got some experience (i worked 3 years in a warehouse) and if u got a buddy for help (he works parting out cars and sometime he builds some amazing things) , so this is very easy , we will get this car running asap for passing shaken!

With this car maybe i will make an f20c swap or a k24 swap or a 1jz swap , or an sr swap , or an ca18 swap, idk , this car is the best platform (not incluiding the glorious s-chassi) for drift or whatever build , or if u want to keep it stock as a grocery getter.

for now i will keep it as simple as possible , with the Bluetop and some simple mod , now the goal is make it run and pass shaken at first try!

AE86 Update
The car is Ready for Inspection!

An hour and a half ago we finished installing the engine in addition to some new things ...

We put all the things of the old engine , we changed the spark plug wires for new ones, change the intake for a Greddy, i bought an Apexi FC and we put a new koyorad radiator, now this engine is running at 100%, also change the fuel tank, top off the radiator with new coolant, changed the differential oil, and the gearbox oil.

i bought a full interior (except the driver seat) for 2200V$ (including the air conditioning system, all in very good condition)

And I changed the brake fluid, since the brake discs and the pads were in good condition, almost new and i put the hand brake

So the AE86 is ready for inspection! I get excited the first start, I will not deny it!
If i pass shaken , i will strip the interior and buy some parts for drifting...

Wish me luck!

AE86 Update
Finally! , 86 is registered!

Yesterday I took the car to do the inspection, and believe! , Approved! , Until the inspector told me "This is one of the cleanest AE86 that I have inspected", I felt happy!

Today i take the opportunity to pamper the car!

I bought a Tow Hook, the front turn signals from the bumper and some "new" wheels and new tires

Before:

After:

Now if it looks good !!!, The rims are ssr starshark 15 inch, i bought them at an auction on Yahoo for 118000 ¥ ($ 1100) and are mounted on toyo tires that i bought for 30000 ¥ (270 $), also i bought a nice towhook for 17000 ¥ (150$) and the turn signals cost me 17000 ¥ (150$)

We also took advantage and went to Ebisu!

I put my old wheels in the back and started drifting

And the car is AWESOME!

The car felt so good, the engine responded perfectly, the transmission also, the suspension although it was not adjustable or anything felt quite good, the brakes responded perfectly, and although it had 130hp, with the 800 or 900 kg it was quite fast, and apparently the previous owner (not my friend, the previous one), I change the relationship of the gearbox for better handling, The car behaved perfectly!

Although the car need several things ...

This car need a hydraulic handbrake, since having to do the maneuver to push the button and pull the normal brake takes a lot and sometimes you can lock the brake, in addition to the stock hand brake does not make enough force to block the wheels so strong as I need.

Needs coilovers, although the suspension is fine, is the original and has no adjustment, and also to lower it as it looks like a monster truck, and also has a bit of body roll.

Needs new brakes, although mine are good, I need bigger brakes to have more room for expansion for improvements, also to brake much better

I would need a bucket seat, since the original seat does not give me the necessary lateral support and I'm shaking all over the car.

I would need an exhaust, Well, not so much but I want a new exhaust, since mine sounds quite short and has several restrictions.

I need the gauges and an adjustment in the Apexi FC, since I want to try to get the most out of this engine in this setup and I need to see what happens in the engine, I would need a wideband, oil pressure clock, water temperature, voltmeter and some more.

And it seems that is all I need now ...

At least now the car is working perfectly, it is legal on the street and it is already looking beautiful! , Besides what I do, will still be comfortable enough to handle it in the city, maybe I'll end up selling the silvia, since that ae86 is being perfect for daily and the 4age is having a very low fuel consumption, perfect for the city , but with the possibility of being a very fast and fun car from 5000rpm, which does not happen with silvia, and to be a 2.0 and turbo makes me hurt a lot when going to buy gasoline lol, and it is not a car that I like it so much ...

Anything new I will let you know ...

AE86 Update

Yesterday after going to Ebisu I bought several new things and I started to install them, I loved the result

Now looks so beautyful!

Here're all the details of the new update of the Hachi-Roku!

Interior: I removed my original seats, I sold them for 168,000 ¥ (1500V$, they were in very good condition) and I bought two bucket seats with belts for ¥84000 (750V$)
I bought some new gauges (oil pressure, water temperature, battery, oil temperature and wideband) for 38900¥ (350V$)
I bought a roll cage to place the belts, run safely in ebisu and tomorrow in d1sl, who knows. The cage cost me 33500¥ (300V$), in addition to a hydraulic hand brake, which i paid ¥22300 (200V$) and a Wood Nardi Torino that was of the old ae86 of my father (he was an hashiriya in the 90's)

Suspension and brakes: I bought a kit of Coilovers Megan Racing for 100000¥ (900V$) ,I removed the brake discs and sent them to a place where they drilled and slotted them, I also bought 4 racing brake pads and new brake lines, the work of the brakes and brakepads cost me 55700¥ (550V$), and also the hydro ebrake (price is above)

Now it looks, feels and drives better!

Cambergaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!!! <3

After these improvements I went again to Ebisu

I met a friend "dominikhepner632" and his 180sx type-x, we took advantage and had a lot of fun! And i took this foto

I was ready for practice and for seeing the difference between the last practice with the stock car and now with all the stuff , And OMG , The difference is GIGANTIC!

The improvement was noticed as if it were another car, the little bodyroll that had this car was completely dissappear, The brakes responded better than ever, the hydraulic hand brake locks a thousand times better the rear wheels, The seats hold me much better, and the gauges help me a lot showing me the condition of the engine and throwing me the necessary data.

It was a nice day! , I enjoyed it a lot and I could see the difference of a stock car and a car with the right modifications and necessary for this type of circuits.

I also sold the silvia: The previous owner repented and offered me 668000¥ (6000V$) for the car, Obviously i accepted the offer

And the old 4age left too, I sold it for 94700¥ (850V$), so I took four things off that solved today's expenses ...

Got two main ideas but for now only some suspension upgrades love the classic style on it

# Soju : That's a really nice progress!

Thank you mane
I'm thinking of some engine swap or the idea of putting an sc12 supercharger on it at max boost that the stock internals could support , or CA18DET swap it , idk

I bought some stickers from Radcoon!, A very nice stock of stickers , a perfect customer service and a very good price all, I'm glad I made such a big purchase ($ 705 in stickers) in that place, highly recommended.
