yeah.

its been a very long time since I was here last. Lots of changes have happened and I thought it was now time to post again since I got back into the car scene.

The reason I have been gone for so long is because I have been doing more important things in my life. The Laurel, 180SX and S13 are all gone - all for different reasons. I made a hefty bit of change from them but of course I'm gonna miss em. Now to my new car.

Back to my "roots" if you want to say that. I bought the car I first had when I came to Japan - a 1985 Toyota Corolla Levin. This one might not be as clean as the other 86 I had but this one is something that I can build on even though it may not be the cleanest of cars. I bought this for Y500,000 which is pretty cheap for an 86.

It was previously a drift car/street car so its rough. Last owner didn't really care about it and now it looks like this. Its currently equipped with:
-Fake Do-Luck rear bumper, fugly bye bye soon
-Fake Vertex Trueno front bumper that doesnt fit because its a Levin
-Both rattle canned yellow kinda
-Rust repair in places
-Surface rust on the front fender and trunk lid
-Paint is fading
-Enkei 92 and Impul Hoshino 16x10
-Rustyish brakes
-Stock 4AGE which is surprisingly clean
-Tockicko RAK 5" springs, rides like a shopping trolley on stones
-Fake Keys/MOMO steering wheel and autometer a/f gauge inside, no floor carpets or left door card
-No Grill
-Garage Clear Knuckles

oh yeah, also forgot to mention that me, Renaruto and Ward have all came together and moved into our own garage. Luckily, right across from my house. We all payed Y443,462 each to get it. It has practically everything we need - tire changer, lift etc.

There is a drift day coming up soon at Ebisu and I might be going to it in this - gotta wait and see if I'm ready or not. Will post again if I do go.

I'm kinda happy to have them gone at the same time. It's better to focus on one car then have a couple that get worked on and some that don't.
and thanks!

Maybe an supercharger , cams and exhaust ?
I had several of these ae86, and they were very funny cars, there are thousands of things to do.
I had from my dori dori project levin, to a black Sprinter that did restomod, that I loved

Enjoy it and make it unique!

I don't know about D1SL, it's become a lot less Street and more track car oriented. Not really what I aim for tbh.

Shiit man, that was unexpected! I'm sure a lot of cool things coming with hachiroku, sometimes we need to let go of old things in order to move forward. Also new place looks sick, I'm jealous of such location, I'm guessing you guys are located somewhere inside city, right?

I'll still take the bumpers, bumpers are bumpers lol. They'll probably get trashed anyway. I'll stick with no panda parts too so that's fine.

Yeah I have some stuff planned. And it's pretty cool, and its located in Yashio so it's pretty close to the center of the city and it's close to my house and stuff so all is good.

Funny that you sold your cars just before you got enough space for them! :)) It's good to change everything up once in a while anyway. That 86 looks quite rough but that's why you bought it to make it good again! Oh and how about you give me those bumpers? Even if they're all beaten up they'll come in handy.

Yeah it's kinda funny I suppose lol. Just needed to let go of em, too many cars to take care of. And it's funny because almost every car I buy is rough and I always fix em up kinda. And are you sure you want the bumpers? The front I get but the back...ew. Also any parts you want from here? Since I have a load of space in the container that I could use.

bump it up

Went to radcoon's place today to pick up my new kouki levin bumpers. Really needed to do this, looks a million times better with em.
Picked em up for Y22,095 which is an ok price. Also picked up a HKS Air filter on the way from UpGarage for Y7,180.

I've ordered front camber plates because look it at it, its shit. Positive camber=not good.
Hopefully will be ready for the weekend, gotta do a full service yet.
Also if anyone has nice 16" wheels to go on this shoot me a pm. Preferably JDM Classics but i'll look at anything.
Money is nothing for the right set.

Well i sent you for a shitload of AE86 parts anyway so grab some stuff for yours too haha. Sometimes stock look is the best but you probably won't keep it like that for long. And if you won't get it ready for the weekend my S14 is still there if you want! ;)

reeems

just a little update.
The camber plates came in today for the 86. I bought them from Cusco for Y21,577 which is pretty cheap, they improve the overall look and fitment so yeah.
And since I had gotten the camber plates, new rims were also in order soooo I bought a set of Volk Racing CV-Pro in 17" for Y19,900 which is a damn steal imo (real price). Got tires for free from Art of Wheel since I work there.

Turned up at UpGarage after work to pick up the rims. Just about fit them all in.

Started to take them off and noticed how rusty the front brakes were. Upgrade coming soon I suppose.

Also took the time to install the Bride seats I won in the Ride of the Month competition. Better than the old seats that were torn and smelled like cigarettes.

Then they were all finally on, camber plates and all....and oh am I happy with them.

And then the final product. I'm super happy with the way it sits rn, maybe just a few little decoration pieces and it'll be the way I like it for a while.

Mhm, I have mixed feelings about this, really strange wheel choice imo, maybe cause I am not used to see 17' wheels on hachirokus lol.

rims (again)

so yeah, i've changed rims, again.

the CV's were nice but they were too big for the setup I'm running. Once i got over a certain speed it would start rubbing pretty badly in the rear. Obviously thats not good soooo i changed em.

I bought the rims from Yahoo auctions for Y164,000 which is pretty good for a full set of RS Watanabe in 15". The tires they came with still had a bit of tread on em so they stayed. While on a shopping spree I also bought:
-Something which I will say later :> - Y136,230
-Parts to make it more complete, interior parts and grill etc - Y56,260
-RS Watanabe full set 15" - Y164,000
-Stickers and sunstrip - Y3,600
-Nardi Torino - Y22,900

So this is how the car is sitting as of now

Had to sneak a quick picture of it outside the place where it'll be getting a face-lift practically.
More soon.

Money
-Something- V$1210
-Parts to make it more complete, interior parts and grill etc - V$500
-RS Watanabe full set 15" - V$1,457
-Stickers and sunstrip - V$32
-Nardi Torino - V$203
-Paycheck - V$940
Remaining - V$46,862
