Hello everyone. I'm Radcoon (got that nickname ages ago).
I lived my past 24 years in Brisbane Australia.
I work for a Outdoor company and will spend the next 3 years in Tokyo.
As I sold most of my stuff including my lovely S15 I got 20.000V$ left for a JDM Toy.

All I have now is this.

So while browsing the used car marked I found a decent Supra MK.IV in the classifieds.

This guy, guess Japonic was his name gave me a good price on this so tomorrow I'll head to Osaka.

Thanks for watching!

Nice supra man !!!!
I am looking for a good Supra or a Skyline HCR32 GTS-T, but most are destroyed, or are extremely modified and very expensive, and stock or are extremely expensive, or are automatic or less desirable versions.
I'm about to give up, but well!
I will continue looking for the indicated car, While I will look at your supra to see the ideas you have and see what I could do

^ There's one HCR32 in the used car section, it's a bit modified but the price is good.

That's a clean Supra, can't wait to see what plans you have for it!

So I picked up the supra yesterday. Had to go to the registration office to get some temporary plates.
Such a joy! Feels so good to finally own a MK.IV. So I made it back home save and smiling!

I tell you. Parking at my place is such a nightmare...

Later today I drove around downtown and arrived a DIY Garage. As I wasn't to busy I took off the Wing.
I kinda like the cleaner look.

Plans.... well, for sure some new wheels! First off all get it registered.

Sorry for the lag of quality in the pics. I run SLRR on parallels so my graphic card doesn't do what it should.
And I haven't found the best ENB yet.

hey skip, right now I'm looking for a set of Work Gnosis GS2 19" flat black. But I can't spend more than 2.000V$
I'd like to do some technical changes as well. Sure I don't need more power now but I'd go for a new exhaust system as well as a new suspension.
Thx Sleeping monkey for the tip. I'll take a look!

Another exciting day with the Mk.IV.
Early morning I vent to a nearby garage to get my shaken done.

Nicely they had a fitting HKS exhaust there which is in good used condition. 500V$ was a way fair deal.
I also put the wing back on. For now that looks better. In my opinion.

So while waiting I browsed around yahoo! auctions and Made a lucky score.

A full set of 19" GS2's! for 1117,70 V$. Plus 100V$ for the shipping!

And... we have a registration! Went very well! And the whole process just took 805V$.

Back at the workshop I've been allowed to implant the "new" exhaust system.

Later today I been browsing around goonet and found this 98 soarer. So while I'm typing this I'm in the train to sendai with my leftover cash!

@ Sleeping Monkey: yeah!
@ Mr.Stance thanks man, I figured it out by myself. :) But maybe I check by your workshop some time ;)

So I made A quite good deal on the Soarer. He didn't come down on the price but I got some 17" URAS wheels instead of the basic ones. In quite okay condition.
Lucky me I had the temporary plates with me! So I brought the back to Tokyo.

Later that Evening I texted with my colleague that lives in the suburbs of Tokyo. He offered a spare room and the double garage of the house as he's not owning a car. So I am a roommate now :).

Today I went back from work earlier to move into the new place. And my wheel purchase arrived. Now I have to get a load of blankets to load those into the supra and get them on.

About the Soarer. As Japan is the holy Drift Land. I plan to turn it into a drift missile. First need to change the AT shifter into manual. The 3L 2JZ should deliver enough power for now.

Let's date this up!
By Friday evening I went to the garage and after I got my tires on the GS2's (don't know why they took it off) I mounted these things!
I'd say they look amazing! Due to stock suspension it looks like the Supra took steroids :). But it feels totally different! Finally some grip!

So Saturday morning I went to Chigasaki Harbour area to catch some waves. Thankfully I mounted the wing. As it turns out. the MK.IV is kinda unpractical if it comes down to transportation of a surfboard. So a set of blankets (protect the paint) and ropes did the job.

Later that day, skip turned by to grab the URAS wheel. Nice guy! Will check his shop this week.

Rest of the day I spend stripping the SC300, check what I might need and took pictures to get rid of the interior and other parts I won't need.

Today I went to Ebisu for a bit of track time at Nishi.

I had a blast but I need a proper suspension. Also I might need to adjust the timing for the turbo a bit.

I found a nice dude to get a picture of me while passing by. And he catches the right moment!

So for now I might put more effort into the Soarer. As I hope to join the 88's drift comps last round.

ToDo:
Propper Set of wheels
adjustable suspension
transform the gearbox to manual
racetype steering wheel
bucket seat
weld the diff

While boring you out with pictures I actually been working on the Soarer.
I got rid of almost the whole interior, badges, rearwing and bits n' pieces.
Which flooded 460V$ into the budged.

So I went to a scrapyard and found allmost all the parts to convert my SC into a manual version.

V$400 for the Manual trans, bell housing and pedal box (used)
V$90 for the manual flywheel (used)
V$150 for a HD EXEDY clutch (almost unused)
V$40 for clutch cable (used)
V$15 for the spigot bearing (new)
V$50 for trans oil (new for sure)
V$50 for the manual ECU (used)
V$30 for gear knob (used)
V$15 for gear boot (used)
V$30 for bolts n' screws (new)

"New" Gearbox about to get back to the car.

A very, very nice local sold me a set of reworked 10 year old coilers from a supra that fitted nicely into my JZZ30. For 250V$.

So while takin' a break late night I went around the workshop and ran into some wheels. A couple of beers I got a full set of 17" wheels.
So I got some CX works and TE's for 300V$! The condition is solid but not nice. Totall bonus: I got a new (??? brand) bumper for the front for 50V$.

Now I only worry about getting pulled over because of my front wheels stick out a bit too much for japanese street laws...

So that's it for now.

So... starting this with the Supra.
I picked up a sweet set of HKS Coilovers at Upgarage for a great deal. Link
So I'm not Offroad style anymore!

Also took some tinting foil for the front and rear lights.

Plus a little can-job for the badges! The black-out!

Only stupid thing now... I can't stand the 19" wheels.... Stupid me. So... now need to see If I could swap those for some 18x10.

Yesterday evening I met some of the locals I know from the workshop at a local carpark.

After some chatting and shit talking' we went down due coastline for some midnight togue!
Had a blast I tell you.

For some reason my dash lights are dead!? But I get that sorted out by the Weekend.

I got a nice offer for an engine. What do you think? Is it worth to change my 2JZ for a tuned 1JZ? Not that I would have enough cash by now....

Now looking' forward to the Round 3 drift comp.

JZA80 x JZZ30, that is a good tandem! I think you should jump on the 1JZ deal, just check the oil through the oil filler cap to see if the head's still lubricated and not rusted out. Soarer conversion? Hmmmm

Well it's just a complete engine. The guy wouldn't take it apart. I should get a spec list so I might post it. But thanks for your advise.

Small update on the Mk.IV.
Went to Upgarage to browse around but found a set of really nice 18" Work Gnosis GH1's. (link)
As Upgarage buys parts as well I made a sweet deal with my 19ers and an hour later the deal was done. Plus 200V$ in my pocket.

Saturday and Sunday I stayed in Osaka to see my mate Alexi at D1GP. Found a descent place to park the Supra. :)

It was awesome!
I need to get the SC300 to the track ASAP!

So what happened during the last days; showed the Supra some love with turtle wax and went to a Supra Meet later that evening. That brought up some new Ideas what to do with my Mk.IV.

For the SC300 I got myself a hydraulic handbrake!

And some stickers :)

Than yesterday at Nikko I thought it might be a good Idea to change the rear tires to the front as they where pretty worn out. That masterminding action caused a bad understeering and a minor contact with a barrier.

Aren’t zipties great? So for now I might keep the missile look until C88’sDrift Comp Rnd.3 took place.

I just don't want to have the so called "big accident"! ;)
Not sure with the Aero yet. I gotta set up the tech stuff first.

Besides... just had a long car chat to my friend at home and the Mk.IV got a new home!
You might wonder how this came up so fast, but my buddy at home is a true Supra lover and I gotta say I enjoy working on cars and in my opinion
a Supra Mk.IV is almost perfect looking and performing as it is. Same with Rx7's (MACKAY might understand).
So now I got a bit more spending money for the SC300.
Plus: There are two nice projects on yahooooooo.

NEW CAR!

As my yahoo spotting didn't work out the way I wanted I searched through Goo-Net and found a reasonable AE86 Levin located in Hiroshima.

Toyota Corolla Levin GT APEX
year: 1983
milage: 315.000 km
Displacement: 1.6L
Repaired: yes

So yes a high milage Levin with a crash history is now mine! 4.486,82 V$ but as we know. those Hachiroku's are not cheap any more.
On my way home from Hiroshima the car felt quite okay. Well clutch is gone and 3rd gear just not exciting besides the lag of power from the engine.
As I got back i noticed the first broken taillight kinda disappeared :)

Reference link

Today I went bit shopping crazy at upgarage for my JZZ30!

Car kinda loaded and now off to the art of wheel store to pic up my nardi.

Well... the price was reasonable and so far I don't know if there is a big problem with the gear box. So It probably was a good deal tho. :)

Nice Idea man, but I'll stay with a 4. ;)

Just placed an order at D-Max for some suspension parts.
So another 800V$ are gone but in a couple of days the work could start on the Soarer.

NEW CAR!

No... it's not another project. I guess. Basically got it because at this point I got no running car.
It's a 1993 Toyota MarkII Grande. Not that I like it that much. But it was the fairest thing below 100.000VYEN in Tokyo.
It still got 3 month of registration and insurance. Runs quite okay. Probably the ugliest daily around.

°LINK°
don't mind the 2.5L badge... it's just 2.0L

Not running Levin

Brought the AE to the close workshop and the guys took out the engine after I disassembled the body parts. So I was able to work on the soarer by that time.
The engine and gearbox will be sit around for a while. As I might work on the chassis first.

Legless JZZ30

As we little boys are hard to be patient with new toys I installed Nardi, Seat and Belt first. I'll get better pics soon.
Getting closer to a "racer" now.

So while there was work going on on the Levin, my buddy and me took off the whole suspension (well it took the whole night). Coffee helped as well!
As well installed the Tomei so the Soarer is ready when the D-Max delivery is arriving.

That's it for the moment.
