New Wheels

Yes, it is a WORK T7R 2P model (it was obvious), with silver finish.

Got it for V$ 2000 with a slight holiday discount ;)

I used same tires on the Advan TC3s I've been using. I might leave those TC3s for weekend racing or so.

It looks really great. Gives me a new feeling to it. Needs some new decals I guess?

Oh, about the horsepower... I don't want to blow the 2JZ, and I still have to learn the car.

I put the GoPro on the hood again, just in case. Some people here drive cars like a maniac.

Took a quick shot of Supra while waiting for someone...

Your supra is so clean! I really want one. I was thinking of pulling the 2J from my SC300 and putting it in a supra but that's a big decision... How do you like the Supra anyway?

2018?

Thank you guys! Also, happy new year :)

I arrived at the shop, waiting for my new year present for myself...

Which is a SEIBON carbon fiber rear trunk. It was actually hard to find this, I was waiting for this to come for several weeks, and it finally arrived.

This also came with window seals and trunk locks, but without wiper holes. So I had to drill the hole.

I moved the logo, windows, and the wiper to the new trunk, and it looks pretty good.

Btw, his S15 Silvia was in a good progress. He even could start the engine and drive a few yards.

Also, I got some decals from 11K, which is custom made. All looking good. I really should get the wing now.

I spend lots of time at Japanese online auction sites.

Also, my friend lives in Tokyo and with his help, he ships parts and gives infos about the parts.

I think I could help finding several parts if you want.

Thank you :) The Supra is changed so much, and I assume she will end up as super-car killer on the highway.

The 180SX daily driver stuff is going well so far. Nothing is leaking, and that is a good sign.

I sold some stuff in the storage lately, and I could earn V$ 500, which is not less.

Sold leftover Chuki bumpers / skirts and S14 stock wheels. I left the Navan rear valances so I could reuse it later.

Then I picked up a pair of Nissan Tesrdrops from local used parts community.

The Silvias and 180s were never sold in Korea, and it is harder to find stock parts than the aftermarket one.

It was fairly in good condition and picked it up for V$ 100. It's just a spare and I might use them on local drift event.

The car still feels great on corners. It lacks some power, but the controls on this are so feeling good, much better than modern cars.

Uhh, yeah. I kinda reached the end of the local forest road, and it was in renovation lately. Perhaps it's a nice time to take a rest.

I thought it was a perfect time to take the Supra for a night ride, so I took 11K with me for some interesting stuff..

I headed to the local highway near the shop, and I decided to push the Supra a little bit harder.

Well, 11K said today there won't be any police hiding under the covers, and I decided to trust him.

The Supra felt much different than before. Especially the new Endless brakes worked much better than before.

11K mentioned that this Supra can slaughter every super cars on the highway with this potential. More boost perhaps?

He also took these nice shots inside the shop.

I think the Supra needs wings later on. But there is no last page on building cars..

Some a e s t h e t i c work has been done to the 180SX this time.

I decided to return to the 5-lug R33 wheels because it looks great on most 90s JDM cars.

Well, the ride on the stock S13 wheels and the winter tires are awesome too, but I think I would stick to the 5-lug system for now.

Oh by the way, that red Supra over there does not have anything to do with mine, so no worries.

I mentioned earlier that the previous lug adapter was not "quite" right for this one and got rid of it.

Instead, I got the new one for V$ 500 and it fits way better than the one it had. Also, I didn't have to reuse the brake discs and the old ass spacers.

I may have to adjust the ride height a little perhaps?

It was done on the rear side as well, nicely tucked in this time. The tires are kinda bit stretched for obvious reasons.

Anyway, if you see from the far, You can see a nice stock S13 sitting nicely.

I was running out of sugar and smoke, I had to refill myself with nice 'calamansi' flavored soda and discontinues pack of cigarette I found in my drawer.

Of course I don't even light the fire in my car and I don't want any sort of traces.

The bad news was... my stickers on the right window were peeling off when I was washing my car with too much water pressure.

I had to take it off with my sad face and cold bare hands, but also I received this nice design from Crazy. All hail the Stock X-Type!

I was staying in small room where Mr. Lee was living in for few days.

I was discussing about some minor issues about the 180SX I was driving as a daily, and he decided to get me a new front sway bar.

I reached the garage with him, and I didn't realized that the Genesis coupe is waaay bigger than the 90s sports car.

No wonder why it feels so heavy when drifting it around.

It wasn't that hard to install the sway bar. I didn't want thick roll cage inside the car, and I didn't want to hurt the car's pretty much stock condition.

This week's simple task was done, and it's a time to work on the Supra.

Thank you guys for the compliments!

I've been tinkering with my 180SX and JZA80 Supra, which is quite a long project.

It's been a while, but I did some work on both rides this month.

180SX

I took out the R33 stock wheels, 5-lug adapter and modified the brake discs, with "slotted" stock discs.

It sounds fishy, but at least it works better.

Also, the A-Piller black trim was fully painted with body color now. It was showing some wear and white blemishes all over, so I decided to paint it.

I ordered X-Type stock wheels + tires set for V$ 200. As I said earlier, I like collecting OEM Nissan wheels.

I always have that conflict between putting a spoiler or not.

With the X-Type wheels, I ordered used Vertex 5-Speed Manual Shift Knob for V$ 100. It was getting harder to find those rarities these days.

Supra

I refitted the old 'hollow' right headlights for more street-illegal look.

The license plate has been relocated on the right side of the bumper. No more hassles from police.

I traded my WORK T7 wheels with SSR SP1 wheels, which was more of my taste.

Also, I took out the F1-style mirror and replaced with Top Secret CF mirror for V$ 500.

I finally managed to acquire the pinnacle of my Top Secret Project, the carbon wing. It costed V$ 2500, which was a fair price.

Wow, Supra looks like a racecar now! V$2500 for a wing was a lot but a good price for genuine stuff. Keep the 180 wingless tho!

A Different Kind.

Thanks for all the kind words! Basically I can say that Project Supra is technically done for now. :)

As a result, I was getting bored lately, so I searched some local craigslist car listings for some new 'daily project' car.

I found one and contacted him, and headed to the public parking lot with 11K.

I found a decent S13 Silvia, but a rather different kind. Something you wouldn't find easily on this peninsula, at least.

A left-hand drive, with rear reflection lights, and the unusual "pop-up" regulatory lights to meet the requirement... The '89 240SX Coupe.

He said he brought it over when he moved his work from USA to Korea. He mentioned that the KA24 was blown a long time ago and it was already swapped with SR20DET engine without turbo setup when he got it secondhand. Also, it was repainted with 180SX yellow, which is a rare color. I've never seen Silvias with "this" stock color.

It had about 240K miles on the odometer, and probably engine must have ran less than that. Probably more than I could possibly imagine.

Well the gasket was kinda leaking and it needed some basic maintenance, and it showed no signs of rod/piston knocks which is a sign of running fairly okay. I gave him V$ 4000 which included all the registration fees.

With a short test drive, the shocks were okay and the interior was fairly in good condition. The 3rd party exhaust was doing its job at least. Well, getting used to MPH speedometer was a fresh experience though. I should watch out for accidental speed violation because of that.

This car might get really interesting, and it has potential. Or have I screwed myself up?
