I'm not sure that's very practical in the world of RPs. Also a custom cage is a custom cage, they're different every time, so the test would prove nothing.

# FlammableRices : What about roll test?

You probably didn't knew that all the legit cages are built by the FIA\ASN standards and are homologated, also this one will be built by the D1 regulations.. That is probably too much info to digest, oh well, but don't worry. :) Also who does the roll tests anyway, have you ever heard of shops doing that? No? Me either.

# Jfernando1 : I'm not sure that's very practical in the world of RPs. Also a custom cage is a custom cage, they're different every time, so the test would prove nothing.

You got the point about the cages.

(( JF1... Please use the fokin brackets if you wan't to write out of character, I see you doing this all the time in every topic and it's hard to understand what is what. Also what did you meant by saying it is not practical in the world of RP's ? ))

(JF tbh what you're doing isnt practical either) Cages have standards that are the same across every chassis to ensure safety..

I meant there wouldn't be a way or a point of rolling cars in SLR:R for testing or proof of strength images.

# MACKAY :
NISMO HOUSE

ʸᵉᵃʰ, ᵗʰᵉ ᵍᵃʳᵃᵍᵉ ᶦˢ ʳᵉᵗᵉˣᵗᵘʳᵉᵈ, ᵒᵒᵖˢ

-✘ Short update about those three days. Well, as I said, the first customer came for a visit on Monday. As you can see it is Altezza, and yes it is blue one.. Right in the feels once again, but lets move on. So long story short our customer is upcoming drifter which will be participating in main drift events around the Japan and we needed to make sure that he will be safe in case of crash. It took us around thirty work hours to build this cage and bash bars while working for almost 10 hours a day.. The results were far better than we expected, everyone including us were satisfied with the outcome. ✘-

-✘ Our Z's looking after Altezza in the shop haha.. Also the bash bars ready to be installed. ✘-

-✘ The fully done cage. It was hell of a job but in the end it was worth it. The driver will be safe under any circumstances. The whole chassis was strengthened significantly too as you can see that all the main points are connected, also you can see the number of pipes inside, it leaves no doubt about the quality of the roll-cage. ✘-

-✘ Also lets go to the main thing of this post.. Why NISMO house ? Well.. Because I own one, now Oscar owns one, and we are the "owners" of this place.. Basically we have plans of becoming some sort of Tuning Shop in the near future, so we will see. Also it is the first time we are showing you inside of our new place, it is very clean and neat, not your typical garage as most of you expect, we will keep it that way for sure, in my opinion it shows the quality of the things built here. Our Z's sitting in the corner of the shop. Take a look of our new place. ✘-

-✘ So yeah guys, that was the today's update. The things are going well and smooth, also I didn't disappeared as I thought I would, so thats a good thing lol. Tomorrow we will be having another customer, Zero is coming early in the morning for a custom roll cage for his S'chassis, while talking to him on the phone, he told me about his plans for that car, all I can say is that he has huge plans for it, so we are more than happy to help him. Will try to update you all soon because we are also looking for another car to buy, so keep an eye open.. Peace. ✘-

Mackay, since you're our 350 "god", what engine swap do you recomend for it? I'm thinking about an LSsomething or some BMW engine swap, mybe S85B50 if it'd fit, but first I'd like to hear your opinion about it, thanks.

That's a good name you have there for me lol, Z' God haha. :D Well it all depends on what do you want and where will you be using your car. And to quickly and simply answer your question - If you don't want to spend more than 10' grand for a swap then either go with 2JZ or LS as there is tons of info about those swaps and etc, also a lot of custom parts in the market for those engines. If you have a little bit deeper pockets, then RB26DET or TT but it is completely different story and I wouldn't go that route for 350Z myself.. Also forget about BMW engines, in my opinion it is not worth considering the cost and power outputs, also don't even think about that S85 V10 as it costs crazy money + don't forget that it needs original manual gearbox which is not so common, because I doubt you would like to use SMG in Z', also if you don't want that, then fabricating of adapters for other gearbox n shit begins which is once again extra $$$.. So to finish my answer I would personally keep the the DE motor you have in yours 350Z and go nuts on a single turbo setup or swap it to HR one and build it, because VQ's are amazing platform for big power, great engines in general, and I recommend you the things I would do myself, keep the VQ. Just my two cents. If you have any more questions considering choosing the engine then feel free to email me and I will try to answer everything in detail.

Zero's S13

-✘ Well, some news what have happened in the last two days.. Long story short Zero came to our work shop for some custom work, we fabricated and installed a roll cage in his RPS13, so now his car meets the D1 regulations and standards which makes him eligible to compete there, also we came up with awesome idea which I will be talking about later in this post. It took us around 26 hours to build this from start to finish, so guess how much sleep we had in those two days... Zero came early in the morning on Thursday, somewhere between 7 and 8 AM so we started working immediately, spent more than 18 hours in the garage that day working non-stop, we even slept there.. Friday was basically the same, we started again at 7 AM, and we had it finished somewhere around at 3 PM.. That was hell of a two days, but the most important thing is that everything came out very nice and we managed to do it in time. ✘-

-✘ Without damaging anything we carefully stripped the interior out, seats, carpets, basically every panel out there, so we could start welding and things like that. ✘-

-✘ The Cage already inside, everything fits well and nice as we also made the original dashboard fit, Zero will definitely be protected from all angles in case of crash which I hope won't happen, but overall I am very satisfied with the outcome. Also sorry for the lack of progress pics, basically we didn't had any free time to do fancy pictures you know.. ✘-

-✘ Also I took another hour and inspected his car all around because of my curiosity. Everything seems fine, perfect base for such build as he has in plans. ✘-

-✘ So after everything was finished, me and Zero went for a "lunch" at local McDonald's where we discussed everything further. So to make things clear I will be his sponsor for upcoming season and will help him with everything related to custom work, such as roll cages, bash bars, fabricating and similar stuff, maybe I will help him with more things later on as I get name for myself. Such thing will benefit us both as he will get the help required and I will get to promote my shop, so win win situation. I made him big discount on this cage, so he basically only paid for materials that was needed, and a small sum of 500V$ that I asked him in first place, so basically this cage cost him one thousand, which is crazy deal in my opinion. ✘-

-✘ So yeah, this is the last update this week as I am going to Tokyo for the weekend with my Wife and yeah, we are taking the "hachi-roku" ! I need to relax for a bit as this week was very intense, we built two cages, basically I spent my whole week in the garage without social life or doing anything for myself.. I also haven't touched the 240Z' in more than two weeks now, I have only driven the Cressida for a bit this week so that it won't break itself while standing as I'm not using it. The shop will be opened again on Tuesday. Maybe Oscar will be there if someone needs something, I don't know, we will see. GT86 while on the road to Tokyo. ✘-

-✘ That was this week, so once again big thanks to Zero for coming to our place and trusting us to build his car, appreciate that a lot! Looking forward to see your car competing, feel free to contact me anytime if you need anything. See you guys next week. ✘-

NEW CONTENDER

-✘ Well.. Time for a little update I guess ? As you noticed I was gone for almost two weeks, so you already know what to expect, as usual I was very busy working and doing "things" in Tokyo with Russians again, but that's for later.. So let's begin. ✘-

-✘ First things first right ? Lets talk about the things we were doing in the shop. As you can see we were working on two Subaru BRZ's this time, as usual only roll cage work. Yes, if you are wondering those two cars are owned by one guy who is starting his racing team just for a hobby.. So without rushing things we did both cages in 8 days and yes, we spent our weekend working on those cars too. I won't get into detail about those cars, the picture will do the talking, business as usual. ✘-

-✘ As things going on in the shop is clear, lets talk about my personal things. As I said I was in Tokyo last weekend once again (October 06-08), basically went there to relax with my wife, but as you know me I ended up in my Russian friends workshop.. Got to see their new cars, ongoing projects and things like that, discussed about future plans. But business things aside two other things happened, one of them is that I sold my Cressida and it is already on the way back to Russia.. Yes, Russians sourced possible buyer for my car back in their motherland so they bought it from me and sent her there, they did that because prices of X30's are on the rise there now, ranging from 10k to 13k for "stock" or "modified" ones, and considering specs and condition of mine it was no brainer to let a deal like that slip. They picked her up from my shop on Tuesday (October 10) I sold it for 21'grand.. It is good deal for both of us, as they will make a profit back there and I got rid of useless car.. Basically I enjoyed building that car more than driving it.. Don't get me wrong, I love X30's, but I just needed to get rid of it, it was more a learning build than something I would like to keep, I just wanted to build a drift car for my own pleasure, but as time passed I found myself very disinterested in drifting scene, and I don't enjoy it anymore. It doesn't mean that I will stop drifting, I just won't focus on such things. ✘-

-✘ Little throwback to first touge run we did with Oscar.. This car will remind me of many things, it was one hell of a ride working on it. My X30 won't be forgotten and it is definitely not the last time you hear about it. Will see ya again soon. #sadmoment✘-

-✘ I guess it is time to talk about main thing of this post, right ? I didn't came back from Tokyo empty handed too.. As I was at Russians shop, I mentioned that I will be looking for either EVO 8/9 or BNR32 anytime soon, and it turns out they kinda had two BNR32's at their disposal.. One being theirs which was shipped from Russia and other being owned by Japanese racing mechanic that they know.. So I got to see them both. I was choosing between two beasts, both had advantages and disadvantages. Basically both were fully built from ground up, the main differences is that one is perfectly maintained, single turboed pushing around 800HP and other one being restored and in immaculate condition, twin turboed pushing 670HP, also the price was almost the same. Because I liked them both it was very hard decision choosing one, so after considering for a bit, I went with the more original, single turboed one.. Another 26'grand down the drain, yes ? haha. We will see, as I am sure I would get more than 40'grand if I parted it out, but sorry folks, that ain't happening anytime soon. First picture that was taken of my new car the minute I left their shop. ✘-

-✘ Back in godzilla's new home. I am not going to talk about it much, I will drop spec list below, but because you are wondering I will answer few questions that does not give you peace of mind.. Yes it is fast, crazy fast. Yes, it can reach speeds such as 300KM/H. Yes, it will be a race car. Yes, it can beat your car without much effort. The specs will do rest of the talking.. ✘-

-✘ I am very happy about my new purchase, kinda testing new waters with this one haha, but I am confident it will turn out great as I have big plans for this car, it is very far from its final form that I already have in mind, this R32 hands down the best car I owned, I will be keeping her for sure.. My babies in the garage, beauty and beast. ✘-

-✘ So yeah, that was it for this update, I might be more active this weekend as I want to work on my own cars, the 240Z haven't been touched in almost a month and it is staying outside garage under the cover, I also want to spend some time working on the R32.. So we will see. I am also thinking of doing an UP-GARAGE haul anytime soon, so if you need anything contact me and I will find any parts you need. I will be renting big van for all those parts that we are going to buy so don't worry, we will have enough space for everything. So yep, keep an eye open for updates. Peace. ✘-

SHOPPING TIME

-✘ Well, here is an update for you guys.. Nothing much happened in those three days, I went to Tokyo to get "some" things from UpGarage and Russian's workshop and spent the rest of the weekend working on my cars in the garage. I bought a lot of things in Tokyo both for GT86 and my GTR, but I will talk about those things down below. Yes, as I said I rented a Mercedes Sprinter van for this thing, so we had enough space for everything, also as always Oscar was going with me. Here is the van I rented. ✘-

-✘ First lets talk about the GT86 as it was "upgraded" too, nothing crazy as my wife is the one driving it , but in my opinion it definitely looks a lot better than stock. It was lowered a bit, the wheels were changed and also new muffler was put on. Now the 86'is sitting on TEIN S TECH Springs which lowered it a bit and Enkei RPF-1 R17 wheels dressed in PIRELLI ZERO NERO ALL SEASON Tires, I choose those tires as the weather is getting colder day by day now, also the winter is coming, so such tires is a must. ✘-

-✘ The exhaust was replaced by HKS LEGAMAX, now the rear looks a lot meaner and sounds a lot better ! ✘-

-✘ I did some things to GTR too. ✘-

-✘ As most of you now know that I will be going for "maximum" with this R32, so I did some things accordingly for such purposes. I stripped most of the interior out, only the dashboard and half carpet is still in place as for now I want it to be as street-able as possible. Also new drivers seat and steering wheel was installed. As always I went with my all time favorite seat BRIDE ZETA III, only this time I got black one, I didn't forgot harness too and I bought FIA-Approved HPI 4-Point seat belts in awesome digital camo color, expensive but worth it. Also this time I went with more "racing" type steering wheel and got myself leather MOMO CORSA wheel, I like the way it looks and feels in hand. ✘-

-✘ I also bought a rear wing for it too and adjusted it accordingly, so now I will have fair amount of downforce while going fast, also keep in mind that spoiler won't be everything, this car will have a lot more aero upgrades later on. It is SARD GT Carbon wing with custom longer legs. ✘-

-✘ And now lets talk about the thing that I am most excited about. The standard differential was replaced by NISMO GT-LSD, and because of that the final drive changed from 4.111 to 3.692, so theoretically in my calculations the top speed increased from 297KM/H to 320KM/H, also the gears are longer now. ✘-

-✘ The wheels on GTR were also changed. I bought NISMO GT LM1 R18 wheels and dressed them in TOYO PROXES R888. Form and fuction at its finest. Also it was lowered a bit too, basically new suspension setup for new wheels. Shinigami GTR, anyone ? Also don't ask why number plates were changed, you will see. ✘-

-✘ Thats "kinda" it for this weekend guys, as I am writing this while waiting for Oscar and Shao in the parking lot near Kansai Kuko Expressway, I think I don't need to explain what kind of things is about to happen in upcoming hour or so.. The only thing I will say is that I will have almost 10 kilometers of straight road and Oscar with Shao will be my spotter vehicles making sure everything will go according to the plan. ✘-

-✘ So yeah guys, if everything goes according to the plan and nothing bad happens I will update you all tomorrow. Keep an eye open for update, peace. ✘-

Actually I am located in Osaka lol. COME HERE ASAP MAN.

Probably it will be a complete race car by the end of the winter, so yeah. I am serious about this and I am hoping to get into 54'sec area, if not I will consider this build major fail.

Thank you ! I will either go all out on aero or will keep it minimal but functional, everything will be done according to the needs.
