Heyy my name is Ward aka Jorge
I'm 19 years old and been living in Japan,in the city of Osaka, a year ago I came here to land of the rising sun to study .
I work at a 2nd hand car parts shop and at night I am on school

I recently purchased my 1st car, I have bought a 1998 Nissan 180SX Kouki a Type S to be more precise for 4315V$,
As you know the kouki models came with a lot of sub-models there was the Type x,s,g.The S is like the starter model with less addons and with an SR20DE silvertop and an automatic gearbox. This car has been through rough days a couple years ago it was a parts car and it was stoped for 4 years until the owner started to make it into a sports cruiser.

The owner made a couple of mods like a koyorad radiator,Toda exhaust manifold,Kakimoto muffler and an HKS air filter one of the things the car was so cheap is that the old owner was swaping it for a manual gearbox but he never finished it so the car has no driveline but to be fair it was a good price since the body and the paint are in mint condition.

My plans for it are for now to is getting a gearbox and make some modifications to it

This is promising. Looks good for now. I think that I've seen a driveline for your car with transmission here in a junkyard. Might interest you...

That's a very clean and original 180. There's a SR20DE in our garage and i can sell you its transmission (5 speed manual), just give me an offer! :)

Added 2 minutes later:

Also you're missing the clutch probably, so i might throw that in as well.

Tranny

Long time no see
So in the meanwhile I started putting apart the SR20DE from my 180sx because I got the missing parts for the car could be drivable

So I got a gearbox from Lagano it came from an SR20DE Redtop that was also in a 180, got the stock flywheel and a new clutch from him for 450V$
Since I was also missing a differential and a driveshaft I went to a local scrap yard here in Osaka and found a crashed Nissan Silvia Spec-R, the driveshaft and LSD were in a good shape got them for 280V$

So I have pulled the SR out because it's easier to install the gearbox I got everything on Friday and I have spent all weekend fitting the parts and thank god today I have the day off I am gonna put the engine back on the car to connect the driveshaft and LSD. Later, my friend Octavio will be here to work on the ecu since the car will no longer be automatic and you have to program some stuff for that.

STANCENAYSH YALL

So if y'all are smart asses like Holeecrab and asked yourself "why the fuck your car is so low fgt" well this happened on the same week I have bought the car

So I have ordered from Stancenation a set of 326power chakuriki 14k springs a friend of mine has them on his jzx90 and says that was one of the best mods he has done. I have paid V$1400 they were expensive as shit, but the improvement on the car was amazing. Right now I am running on 6 inch setup (nearly rubs on the fender but ok)

About the auto to manual conversion now that the car is working fine, I took it for a rip on the docks and the DE moves quite good for 103kW my only concern is the LSD it's making some weird noises just not to speak, it's acting like a normal open diff but maybe it's because it was from a DET engine and I am running on a DE engine

Also, I got stickers from my friends, some of them I have printed them

WHEELS

So after fucking up almost 5 tires I think was time to go adjust my covers and get some new wheels.
So yeah at first I was gonna use Abi's Kosei K1 but I didn't like the way they looked so I have talked to a couple buddies and Ismael told me he has his old AVS model 5 on lexotic's garage which is here in Osaka.
They are Yokohama Model 5 17x9.5,+35, right now I am not using any spacer but soon I hope I can get some fenders and spacers also the tires were used they are Toyo Proxes they are a Lil bit used it's good since my car doesn't have a lot of power, I paid about 900V$ for the wheels and tires. Also The Model 5's are 5 lug and my car is 4 lug so I had to get the cheapest 5 lugs brakes so I went to the same junkyard were I bought my LSD and I got 4 Z32 brakes for 200V$

How to ruin your SR in a few steps

So yeah, after driving basically a 2 door primera got I decided it was time to go and boost it.
I wanted to boost it mainly because I wanna go and hit the tracks, mountains and streets around japan and with a 150BHP SR20DE it was going to be hard.
I got some stuff from upgarge and I have also bought some home-made stuff

Here is the list:
SR20DET Top mount turbo exhaust header - 400 V$
Greddy TD06-25g - 800V$
SR20DET Oil Catch Can - 200V$
Custom made front mount intercooler + piping - 600 V$

I think the turbo will give it the power it needs since I am learning
Here's the progress of installing the turbo:

I just need that my friend finishes to make the intercooler and piping give it a quick tune so I can drive it to a dyno tune it properly and maybe in 2 weeks I will make a visit on Ebisu circuit

It sure will if it'll have too much boost. :P

Added 1 minute later:

But you could get forged internals if you want more power.

i would strongly recommend to lower the piston heads a little and put some instrumments so you dont blow he.

@Lagano - Nah I am gonna run 0.8bar in the beginning about forged internals I don't plan to have 500BHP like koguchi had on his 180 300/400 is just good

@tyretear - Yeah, I think I have chosen a nice and reliable setup

@The_Fourty_Seven - Right now, with the road tune about 220BHP

@Sleepin mOnkey - Yep, when I have a Lil bit more money I will work on the head

@all the other that were asking about the head - I kinda want this engine to blow, but not right now

Intercooler + Drift prep

Well... my friend has finished the intercooler and the piping so today morning he gave me a call saying it was ready in the afternoon I installed everything and started the car

It sounds so fucking amazing the spool it completes the pack my buddy Octavio (current no car bcs he his a fgt) gave a quick tune.
After I was sure my cylinder head wouldn't blow I ripped it on some back roads and oh god I really love this car

Also like I said in the previous update in 2 weeks I was going to Ebisu so I decided to start prepping the car I am not going to put the hood and bumper back since I don't wanna fuck them. I am also going to need a bucket seat and some drift burner wheels so if you have any of these gimme a call

Oh, and I almost forgot I got an HKS Filter for the turbo for just 40V$
