Nakai's Night; Parker's Prestige

To even start with this, there needs to be heaps on context laid out.

For starters, late last year, I purchased a wrecked 1972 Porsche 911S. It was the most obnoxious shade of yellow a Porsche was ever sold in, and I loved it.

So much, I spent roughly ten thousand dollars restoring it. It was one of the most fun projects I've had, and thanks to my connections through SpeedHunters, I got to work alongside Magnus Walker on this car.

Once she was finished, I dubbed her the "Widowmaker".

Thankfully, I'm unmarried.

It was a cloudy day in Los Angeles after a rainy night, the roads were still slick with puddles dotted all over the blacktop.

I gave it just a little too much gas on a on-ramp, the rear came around, and there was nothing I could do.

Then, I sold it to a close friend Parker, or, ThatBoostedGuy, who promised me he would take it to it's former glory, and more.

To his credit, he did. But, since I'm a journalist, I need to feed my own ego a bit as well: This couldn't have happened without my connections through SpeedHunters.

Now, how exactly do you bring a former glory Porsche back to it's roots before a wreck, yet higher at the same time?

If you were Parker and I, the words "Rauh-Welt Begriff" came to mind.

A few calls up the chain, and Nakai-San was on his way to sunny California to transform my former Porsche.

And this; is the result of it all.

As a cool dude, and as a SpeedHunter, and as the former owner of this car, I proudly present to you: RWB Sakyubasu.

Sakyubasu, or サキュバス, is the Japanese word for Succubus; a female demon that uses her beauty to lure in victims, before she kills them with stunning brutality.

Parker, Nakai, and I found it a nice tie between the car's old name, and how it had gone from my ownership to Parker's.

Before this was undertaken, I didn't really realize how in-depth RWB conversions were. As the car rests today, only the unibody, engine, doors, brakes, and interior are the same as when the car was owned by me.

Do I mind? Not at all.

As with all the RWB Narro style kits, Nakai applied fenders, rockers, front and rear bumpers, and the "Whale-Tail" trunk to the body.

After that, was the suspension. The stock arms and coilovers were removed after the Fifteen52s that the car wore in it's previous life. Then, came the Aragosta suspension, followed by some of the widest street car wheels I've ever seen. For reference, my own FC runs 16 x 10 Fifteen52 wheels, but this car takes it to something else.

On the front, like my car, the Porsche runs 10 inch wide wheels. But, the wider rear fenders have to be filled out one way or another, no?

12.5. Twelve and a half entire inches across, on the SSRs that make up the rear.

It runs 295 tires on the rear, and 265s on the front.

It goes without saying, I'm very confident the car won't step out on these treads like mine did.

The engine was untouched from when I had it, but, no worries, the 2.7 liter flat six isn't stock. When restoring it, once I got it to crank I jumped at the chance to install 46mm PMO carburetors and a custom straight pipe exhaust. Needless to say, it pulls a bit harder than it did back in 1972.

So, not only does it park hard, it also pulls hard.

Nice. Also, those who follow my personal blog are gonna get excited when I mention this part: Remember how I said that the FC would finally get a wing soon?

Yeah boyos! It's finally happened!

I had the piece custom molded while I was dealing with the fallout of crashing the Porsche, and it ironically arrived the night before I took to Temecula to see Parker's Porsche come to life.

And it looks.... good.

Nah, it looks freaking amazing, that's what it is!

The morning after, after Phoenexius and Driftphantom, who also helped out, were given their t-shirts and stickers, and began to head home, I quickly ran Nakai over to LAX in the FC, newly bewinged with his help.

On the way back, Parker invited me to hit GMR with him.

So, I did.

It really goes without saying, but this is probably the best experience I've had around cars, ever.

Now let's try to smash that with something even greater.

The past few days have been amazing.

Where do I go from here? I have two cars that I am extremely pleased with both aesthetically and mechanically (with the exception of the 240SX's stock brakes). I guess things couldn't get much better than this. Thank you very much to everybody who helped out with this project, especially Nick. None of this would have been possible without him.

Hell yeah! I had a great time.

I needed something do to so,

More aesthetic mods for the Nissan! I picked up some sideskirts, rear valances, and a trunk lip from ebay. I know I said I wanted to to the car's brakes and possibly swap out the welded differential for an LSD but that can wait for now. I think the car is pretty much complete aesthetically. Here's another picture of Nick's FC3S and my Porsche since they look so nice.

$806 - $600 (Miscellaneous parts for the 240SX) = $206

Thanks for the comments you four!

So I've been working on my painting skills recently... Sorry for the crappy pictures by the way, the lighting was poor. I took these just before I drove to a car meet, which I'll post pictures of tomorrow or something.

Some leftover blue paint from the countless other times I've painted parts on this stupid car was put to use. I also painted my wheels black since that seems to be something I keep doing. I think it compliments the other black accents quite nicely.

The headlights have also been swapped out for stock ones.

$206 + $750 (Paycheque) - $50 (Stock headlights) = $906

((OOC: If anybody has a fix that makes this car actually have headlight flares hmu))

"Thanks" Nick, and a legitimate thanks Phonexius.

I ordered an ISR Performance five lug conversion kit for the 240SX. I hate to admit it, but I've been running adapters the entire time, they're good quality ones, but they're still adapters.

Once the conversion kit arrives, I might use it as a reason/excuse to upgrade my brakes.

$906 - $430 (ISR Performance conversion kit) = $476

So Nick and I went to Palm Springs...

I traded the 240SX for Brady's Miata (and $800 on top), which he painted grey before the transaction. He kept his Enkeis and I kept my Volks. The Miata is currently powered by an SR20DET redtop, just like my 240. It's sitting on a borrowed set of Mickey Thompsons at the moment. Oh, I also took off Brady's sketchy muffler because I didn't trust the chicken wire and duct-tape to hold it on.

I'll have some more pictures of the car in the next coming days. It's a very big and sudden change, but it's nice to know that the Nissan has gone to good hands. Be good to it, Brady...

$476 + $800 (Cash from Brady) + $430 (Refunded ISR Performance conversion kit) = $1706

I'm already doing things to the Miata... It's nothing major but, I bought a hard top.

I also peeled off all the stickers, along with adding my own Mazda decal to the windshield. The previous owner of the hardtop had told me that the colour was from an FC3S. I think it looks pretty nice, I might paint the entire car that colour eventually.

$1706 - $700 (Miata hardtop) = $1006

Thanks for the comments you three! :^)

I might trade my RE30s for these wheels so I can keep them permanently, since I don't really have a car that suits the RE30s anymore.

Oh, by the way. Since the Porsche has a name, I decided that I should come up with something for the Miata. The name I settled on is pretty stupid, but it suits the car. License plates to suit said name will be here soon...

I'm letting the Porsche warm up right now so I can take a trip to Palm Springs to help out Brady with my former 240SX, I've heard he has some pretty big plans for it so be sure to check out his progress.

Oh, before I forget, the license plates for the Porsche should come in around the same time the Miata's do, so, yeah. Until next time I guess.

Was this risky? Sure. Do I actually care? Nah.

Alllriiiighty... Once I got home from my trip to Palm Springs with the Porsche, I jumped in the Miata and hit the highways with no destination in mind. I ended up in Indio somehow, and, well...

It was fun. This thing should be called the neck breaker, which is fitting considering its current open-downpipe setup and the whole "Pepsi Pole" thing. It was a super fun day until I decided that my right foot should be just a little closer to the carpet.
Telescoping flag pole + Pepsi can + Miata = Quality shenanigans, right? Wrong.

I pulled a huge smokey powerslide past a suspicious looking Dodge Charger. "Oh, of course it's a ghost unit..." I thought to myself as I pushed the SR20 to WOT for the first time, putting a bit of distance between the Charger and I before he was able to flip around and pursue me.

As I turned a corner I jammed on the brakes. In the short time I had, I ripped the pole out of its duct-tape mounting "bracket" and collapsed it, tossing it where the passenger seat should be. Flipping my top up and latching it, I dumped the clutch. I turned up my scanner's volume and heard something along the lines of "BOLO Silver Mazda Miata, license plate unknown."

It's a good thing I atleast had the foresight to slap some duct-tape over my plate, which by the way @anybody in Indio, does not say "NIBBA" ;)

Thank you for the comments again, I know I say that a lot but I really appreciate it.

Uhhhhh...

I bought a Miata.

This time around it's a 1995 model equipped with with a BP-ZE, albeit a dying one. Oh, for anybody wondering, my other Miata is a 1996.

I don't really know what my plans are for this car yet, especially on the topic of if the BP-ZE stays or goes. I suppose it hinges on if I can repair it or not. I'm not posting anything too long tonight, but I'll try to write something about all three of my cars tomorrow.

$1006 + $750 (Paycheque) - $750 (1995 Mazda Miata) = $1006
that was fantastic, 10/10 payday... pls slap that dislike button for more horrible content kthxgoodnight
