# GoverningNick : Congratulations! Any idea on what the next guy up the chain drives?
# Facepalm : Absolutely no idea. But it can't be that powerful.
I can't wait to see what it is.

Good win, by the way.

(My my, my apologies for not posting in a while! Life caught up and punched my face real hard)

The next race was against a guy in an Alfa Romeo. Wasn't that bad, he was pretty good. Maybe even better than me.

I pulled away pretty easily, but it was only later that I found out that he had transmission problems. He said he was fine with it, and that he was unprepared. He accepted the defeat, and let me move on with the races.

However, right after we finished the battle and just cruised alongside, a 240SX going at a ludicrously dangerous speed lost control!

It crashed on the wall, its parts flew all over, and it also made the green Miata behind it spin and crash!

It flipped on its roof, black smoke emitting from the engine bay. The driver was fine, managed to crawl to the side of the road.

However, a Trueno was slingshotting down the highway, and by the time the driver noticed the flipped car, it was too late...

The Trueno hit the gas tank of the 240SX, spun out and then stopped by slamming onto a wall.
I assume you can guess the outcome of this...

The next day, I decided to drop by the only place where the remains could've gone. And so I went. The cars were there. All written off.
The Trueno was on the stand, the rear end was bashed in, and the front was badly smashed.

The Miata's front was badly destroyed... The engine was probably compressed into one massive wreck that was recycled...

The S13 was totally burnt out. The underbody was pretty dented, not visible in the picture. The engine was fried out, and the whole car has nothing to offer anymore. The driver is thankfully alive.

Moral of the story: Don't drive fast if your car is not capable of staying under control, especially when your tires are not in good condition.

(My goodness... I've been away for who knows how long. My apologies for that!)

The next race came up. Wasn't that difficult. I was racing against a Dodge Omni, but it seemed slow to me.

Though the next race was a bit of an unfortunate event. The opponent turned out to be much faster than I expected him to be, and I ended up falling back throughout the entire race.

Though, due to heavy traffic, we had to eventually get off the highway... We pulled a stop at my favourite coffee shop, and had a little chat. Oddly enough the other driver seemed to recognise me through all those burns, scars and bandages on my head, counting the eyepatch as a bandage, and he was a little bit upset. He couldn't believe that he was racing one of the best drivers ever... In a Toyota Corolla. He told me to snap back to where I was, and refused to challenge me until I get a new car. With that, I set off to home, and began plans to see what car I'll end up buying, because I can't stay with this Corolla forever...

So it's time to get my second car. I don't want something way too powerful and expensive like a supercar, so I decided to see what the dealership has to offer. I dropped by Jeff's dealership to see what he had. He showed me this Chrysler Crossfire, which was used, but in very good condition. The price for this car was a bit too big due to it being tuned beforehand by its previous owner, which wouldn't leave me with any room for customisation and improvements.

I decided to have a look at Jim's shop. Apart from parts and wrecks, he also sells used cars. There, I found two cars that caught my interest. A used Toyota Chaser Tourer V, with stripped interior and panels, as well as a bit of a bad suspension, and an Audi S5. Now the Chaser is the cheapest one, as well as the lightest due to the weight reduction done to it, but the S5 is way more powerful. However, just like the Crossfire, it won't leave me much space for tuning.

I'm really unsure as to which one I wanna get. One offers more customisation, but less power, the other one is a bit expensive and leaves less room for tuning, and the other one is already tuned but expensive. Which one should I choose?

Now is your chance to help influence the story! Which car should I choose?

  • Toyota Chaser Tourer V - Cheapest and lightest of all, but least powerful and a bit of a bad suspension.
  • Audi S5 - Pretty powerful, but also pretty expensive and heavy. Won't leave much room for tuning.
  • Chrysler Crossfire - Already tuned, but the most expensive. Not really tuneable.

I stand behind the Audi. Yes, it's not the cheapest but, a Crossfire and a Toyota Chaser aren't exactly known for their cornering ability. Even if the S5 is plagued with the front end push of most Audis, I still think it's the best car of the trio.

I can also agree with him. Audi has more modern tech while the other two stand behind it, with less power and older models as well, realizing you can still modify the 4.2 V8 Heart of that Audi to it's max potential.

Get Crossfire, LS-swap it. In the end it's all about highway runs, right?

Eventhough i come from the country that has allmost as much Audi's as Germany itself, i would go for the Chaser. Endless list of mods and swaps, if something breaks it doesnt cost a bodypart to pay for it, tons of secondhand parts on japanese websites and most importantly: all mods/swaps are payable compared to the Audi and the Crossfire.

All three cars have their pros and cons, but so far the Audi seems to be in the lead...

    # Smokiegun : I can also agree with him. Audi has more modern tech while the other two stand behind it, with less power and older models as well, realizing you can still modify the 4.2 V8 Heart of that Audi to it's max potential.

Yes, but the S5 will leave me with less cash to tune it, that's the only thing that bugs me about it. If it was a bit less expensive, chances are I wouldn't have to ask about the other two.

    # KeeJay : Get Crossfire, LS-swap it. In the end it's all about highway runs, right?

The car itself is already tuned, I assume it's already got an LS under the hood. However, it's very expensive, and tuning it further will seem like impossible.

    # ShadowTuner : Eventhough i come from the country that has allmost as much Audi's as Germany itself, i would go for the Chaser. True, but the Chaser has its limits too. Not everything can fit under that hood. Besides, stability is an issue with its RWD layout. On the mountain roads, it'd be good for drifting, but on a straight line, it could cost me.

Chaser definitely. The 1JZ will take basically anything you throw at it and being such a big car it is rather stable, contrary to what you think. And overnight parts from Japan are also an option

    Chaser - 2
    Crossfire - 1
So far, the Audi is in the lead

You do realise I race on highways and not mountain roads right? What use would a drift car have on a straight line?
Also, it's bone stock, except the stripped interior and kinda bad suspension

So after voting, the Audi won, with the Chaser being just a bit behind. Since it won, it means that it's the car I'll be buying. I went to the shop and bought the S5. When I went there, I noticed the Chaser was bought by someone else anyway, and its place was taken by another car...

I drove it all the way home. It felt nice, it felt powerful. It felt... Right.
Looks like this was the best option after all!

The time to rematch has come. I met up with the other guy on a gas station, just outside of the highway

We decided to have a chitchat, a coffee and all that jazz, y'know. We didn't get straight into the action. We decided to get to know each other a bit better. Like for instance, I found out his name and such.

I will admit, the look of both these cars is menacing. A classic American V8 VS a modern German V8. Sounds like a match that can already be predicted, but it's all up to the drivers isn't it? All this positive atmosphere, however, was ruined with just one car passing by. This one:

The horror of the highway... The very guy who threw me on the ditch. He knows I'm still alive. He knows everything. My current appearance, the cars I drive, even where I am. As soon as he left, I explained why I have to leave immediately, got in my car and sped off in a hurry. He understood, and we just parted ways... Again.

    Brandon Syu-Hoo

Lemme tell you about Brandon Syu-Hoo, or as I called him, the horror of the highway.

See this ugly as fuck Bora? This was caused by him, and I'm not talking about how the Bora became ugly. He wants to win no matter what, and will do everything in hand. He drives a black Z32, in which he has managed to take out not only ricers like that ugly piece of shit above (Gosh I fucking hate how it looks. I mean, seriously? A TT front end?), but also classics, and even sports cars. He was the one who took me out on my old car, but that's a story for another time... Or maybe sooner, now that I'm in incognito, or hiding you'd say. This only makes my task of going up more difficult, given that I'll have to avoid him at all costs... Or maybe face him if worst comes to the worst...

So while I'm in hiding until things cool down, lemme tell you about the various parts of Valo, and well, a story or two.
Now first up is South Valo. The Valo we all know and love. With the ricers, the street drag races, the crashes, the pink slips and well... You know.

Up next is East Valo. It's where all the events are taking place right now! A city with many highways, used a lot for racing. There are a few occasional street races, but most races take place on the highway. There are a few tracks laying around, which are useful for when you need to test something safely. Getting cars and parts or anything here is easy, and at quite affordable prices most of the times, which makes it quite the attraction. That, and the intense will of many people who seek to find and beat the Gulf F355.

Next are the mountains of North Valo. The twisty mountain roads and drift tracks make it a great place for drifters to come and hone their skills, as well as attempt to make themselves legends. Many people also attempt time attacks at these mountains. I haven't really heard or experienced much of that place, only that I had to drive on the mountains once as part of a race.

Last but not least is West Valo. Filled with racetracks, it's the best place for people who love themselves some speed and action, and people who love going through corners without fear. I've visited race events here, pretty fun and challenging! It's always nice to have a change from the usual highways and try something different, yet as competitive.

Well, now you know the parts of Valo. Since I'm done telling ya what each side has to offer, I can finally tell you a story regarding East Valo. And well... I guess it's time to tell you the backstory behind my crash, after the storytime of course, since everything's seeming to become clearer to me from the day I crashed...
