What more could one ask for than a Volkswagen Corrado in Temecula?

How about a car that ran right? Though, I can't really complain because I purchased this car last week from a small town used car lot which didn't completely understand what the Corrado is, meaning I got it for a decent price. Since then it's developed a nice list of problems, which I scribbled down on a notepad when I gave the car a once-over the day I bought it.

#JustCorradoThings
-Bent valves (I think, it's showing symptoms of it but I need to confirm)
-Constant coolant leak, fixed temporarily with duct tape to spare the shop floor
-MAF has gone bad
-Dead fuel pump
*DO NOT RUN THE CAR*

The rest of my money will be spread across the Corrado and some other things I have in the works. Now, for the moment you've all been waiting for, pictures!

I'll have some more soon, I'm in the process of providing the car with what seems like the first bit of love it's seen in a long time. I fixed the bodywork up a bit and painted it the day after I bought it (sun faded red to that is a pretty good change) for those who were wondering why it looks so good.

((One final note: I realize this is like, my millionth thread. This is my last one. I have a good PC now and can actually enjoy what I'm doing with my RP. I have a plan, and I am sticking to it. Thanks))

I paid $3000 for it. Partially because the dealership didn't know what is was, and partially because the car is riddled with mechanical issues.

I guess so, it's going to cost a lot more than $3000 to fix it though.

The valves aren't bent. Actually, the internals are super clean. This has me concerned, though, because I just falsified my claim about bent valves. Meaning I don't actually know what's wrong with the car. Well not yet, at least.

Check your piston rings. VR6's aren't nice to them. That thing's REALLY clean though, so pretty good find.

Temecula? Only gardeners and Clinton supporters come from Temecula! And you don't have tools, so that narrows it down, don'tcha think?

I just got back from a quick trip to Los Angeles in my friend's FC3S to buy some VR6 parts.

I think I might sell the Corrado once I am finished with the repairs. I know I've only had it for about two weeks but I want a car I won't feel bad about beating on. If anybody is interested let me know, if not I will list it publicly on Saturday. For the time being, I'm going to put in some more wrench time and get this engine sorted out. I would like to see at least $4000 for this car, since I've put $3250 into it so far, and there is still work to be done.

$20,000 - $250 (VR6 Bottom End Parts) + $415 (Paycheque) = $20,165

I am going to sell the Corrado once the repairs are finished. I'm going to install the new parts tomorrow once I have all of them here. Which reminds me, I ordered some other parts last night that will tie up the rest of this car's loose ends.

$20,165 - $250 (Radiator) - $65 (Mass Airflow Sensor) - $50 (Fuel Pump) = $19,800

I thought about a Rieger kit, but I think it's in everybody's best interest if the Corrado goes to an actual Volkswagen enthusiast who will appreciate it. Because I was lowkey going to strip and autocross it.

The Corrado is gone. I sold it for $4000, which, is okay considering I paid less than that for everything.

I took a taxi across town last night, to meet a lady from Craigslist who was selling a car.

It belonged to her son, before he unfortunately was taken by cancer in the fall of 2015. He had recently done a bunch of work on the car, including a rebuilt RB26DETT and a new front end after the car was mauled by a GMC Sierra. I had initially intended to negotiate the seller down from the $10,000 asking price, but once i learned the Skyline's story that changed. Her son purchased the car in the spring of 2014 with a stock RB26 swap and not much else and had poured his heart and soul into it. She and I talked over coffee before we eventually exchanged cash for keys and documents. I promised her that her son would be proud of what this car will become, and that I would see her around. (Before you get any ideas she couldn't have been younger than fifty.) I slumped into the seat, feeling happy with my purchase, but a bit sad knowing this car's history. It's a beautiful machine, and I'm glad some childish drifter didn't get a hold of it. Who knows what somebody would do to this GTS-T? I'll treat it right, you can count on that.

$19,800 - $10,000 Nissan Skyline GTS-T (R32) + $4000 Volkswagen Corrado (SOLD) = $13,800

It's a stock R32 colour. I have no idea what it is. If you do really want it I can figure it out for you.

So, Nick did some foreshadowing on his thread. Because guess what happened after I left?

I was doing some timed desert runs with my friends when I came over a crest carrying a bit too much speed. My front license plate contacted the road and snapped off. My Top Secret bumper was knocked out of place slightly and scratched. Front grille? Somewhere in the stratosphere now. I couldn't find it in the sand. The plate and plate mount are relatively okay, but they will not be going back onto the car. I debated taking the plate off when I bought the R32, but I left it on out of respect for the dead previous owner. The seal is now broken. I'll be putting in some serious wrench time on this car soon.

Pfft.

Maybe if it wasn't so pigfat the weight wouldn't have brought the car down far enough to touch plates :3c

For sure man! I'm located in Temecula, about 1 1/2 hours away from Los Angeles. If you need me to I can come pick you up. If you're bringing a friend, I apologize in advance about the R32's rear seats.

Some stuff happened since the sorta-crash. I bought a 240SX, and the R32 got some aesthetic modifications. Fenders, sideskirts, and a spoiler from a friend of mine who has a bunch of spare Nissan parts. I also picked up some new wheels because my front left XXR was damaged when the front end slammed down.
(yes i have my hood still)

Now, the 240SX. I have to hand it to David, he found a very sturdy 240SX. Runs good, body is in great shape. What more could you ask for from a basic bitch Japanese car?

$14,215 - $1500 (aero) - $1200 (Volk Racing CV-Pro "17) - $3100 (Nissan 240SX) + $415 (Paycheque) = $8830

((Played around with my graphics, looks much better now in my opinion.))

Vacation time, but before I go...

I'm taking the R32 in for some special stuff now that I have new body parts. I look forward to seeing the final result when I get home, and I'm sure it will look fantastic. That's all for now. See you in a week or so.

I ended up cancelling what I had planned for the R32. It was new paint, by the way. I did that because I am going to piss people off swap out the RB26DETT for something else.

I'm not sure what "something else" is yet, but, one thing it will do for certain is make the R32 a hell of a lot faster. Also, I didn't mention it in my previous post about the 240SX but I downgraded my work space slightly. I'm now renting a different garage across town. I don't mind, it's not like I used all the room I previously had.

$8830 + $470 (Paycheque) = $9300

The 240SX has received some goodies since I last posted about it.

Before I took the 240SX in for paint, a friend and I broke out the heat gun and fender rolling tool to make some more room for wheels in the future. I picked up some used HKS Hipermax IIIs from Craigslist and installed them. I haven't made any adjustments yet but that will come later. I also applied some stickers which are probably not lined up with each other, but it doesn't matter since nobody will ever have a chance to look at both sides at the same time.

$9300 - $700 (HKS Hipermax III) - $1100 (Paintjob from a legit paint shop because I can't/wouldn't do it myself) = $7500

((OOC: I would take screenshots of the car inside the garage but for some reason the hitbox is too big T_T))
