The one from your friend must be a 1.9L Turbo Diesel (Phase II 306 model )

Mine is Phase III 306 model (restyling) 2.0L Turbo Diesel (common rail) but without intercooler.

1.9 is XUD while 2.0 is DW, DW is much much better even without IC(it's stronger overall).

I have a berlingo with your same engine, DW10TD(2.0HDI), it pulls like a mofo :D

DW10TD !

My 306 was bought brand new by my parents, my mother drove it until i got the drivers license and then they gave it to me because my mother bought an 2009 skoda fabia break 1.4 TDi 80hp.

At the time that i got the 306 it got 140k km .. now it has 352k km ! No big issues with the motor till now.

I've modded some things to make it nicer ... such as a GTB1756VK (variable geometry (and working!!!) 63,5mm straight pipe (with a back "stock" exhaust now to be silent and also a pipe to make it full straight, just screw/unscrew, remove one, install the other ! LOL) oil and diesel coolers and it has a remap (at the time was for the stock mode) and a sachs race paddle.

Probably it has around 160/170hp and aprox 400nm !

Have you ever thought of getting a 6 speed transmission from the latest models?

I heard it's pretty much a straight fit, you only have to replace that and the driver's side semiaxle(also clutch and flywheel if you wanna do a proper job tho).

Should be quite great especially for long trips where you can just get the 6th in and chill.

No need to fit a 6 speed gearbox ! stock one tops at 235 km/h (GPS) at 5300rpm.

I'm not into speed much .. i like to speed up in a straight line sometimes, but the 306 is better on rough roads with a lot of curbes (if you have the berlingo you must know because the chassis is the same as the 306 !)

Talking about consumption, i normally do around 1000/1100 km with a full tank, around 50/55 liter.

I didnt mean for speeding, i meant more like for having a chilled and silent ride(the 6th speed should get you at around 1200rpm for 130/150kmh).

I defo know that, the only bad thing on mine is the transmission, being a MF model(cargo) it has a BE4R tranny which is short as fuck and goes something like 2800rpm for 110kmh(5th speed)... that's utterly boring.

But besides that, i like it a lot. It has 475k km now and it's still rocking lol

Besides, its a stock AF Volvo anyways

This is basically a copy of mine. Minus a rusthole in the front left fender and white fender indicators I got from my local junkyard for free. Also I have my winter wheels on but my summerwheels are the same as these ones :) :)
