Changed out quite possibly the worst ball joint I've ever seen...

Had her up on the jack for surgery

The culprit, covered in PB Blaster

I did eventually get it out of there, but it bent the hell out of my tool...

Also had to use the Jack to break the bolt loose at the bottom...

Here's what it SHOULD look like

Had my buddy with me, snapped a pic whilst I was both unaware, and tightening the split nut that the pin goes through...

Its northern Indiana. We get snow, then the next day 60° f temps, then sub zero temps the next day. That and it's late November...

and everyday I still come back to this thread to laugh at the word "Lelgacy."

My driver's side ball joint is also damaged according to the guys at the Alignment shop. I'd like to order a pair if adjustable Front Lower Control arms though.

Can anyone identify what rims are on this Legacy? I'm going to get Enkei J10's, but for down the road I would love these.

^yup. Those are them. Do I have to swap hubs or redrill the wheels or hubs or anything, or are they 5x100? And how much are they a piece?

What size spacer would you recommend? As of right now, my 185 wide steroids are sunk about 4 inches

Got the Lelgacy something really awesome... once their all cleaned up, reassembled, and pretty, get em installed. More power, smoother, quieter running, better gas mileage. We're looking at about 35 more horse...

I bought some rims for the Lelgacy. 2005 WRX rims to be specific. Got all 4 off Craigslist for a grand total of $75. Each normally sells for $130+, so I saved over $400... For tires, I, hopfully, in the next month will be getting a set of brand new BFGoodrich G-Force SP Comp 2's. I also have suspension to put on. 4 OEM struts, bearing caps, and still in the mail but due to be here on Friday, 4 B&G S2 Sport springs. lower her in inch and a half.

As for the DOHC cylinder heads, that'll lower compression from 9.3:1 to about 7.9:1, which means, boost! I'm gonna get UEL Headers and a turbo from a wrecked WRX and run 11 PSI. I'm excited for the next 3 months...

Well, this might be a problem... Happened today around 2 pm, or about 10 hours ago.

Already looking into sleeved blocks, and getting a full stroker kit. Gonna get the engine from a newer legacy, so it's a phase 2, with more performance support then the phase 1 I currently have. Well, had. Driving my second car, a 2011 Forester in the meantime. What happened was i was merging onto an onramp, and i had it floored. 6k rpm, and the engine made a bang noise, and smoke started pouring out of the back. It was still running, but i shut it off and coasted to the side of the road and waited for the tow truck. So, finally after 211,118 miles, the Lelgacy is dead.

These are the parts I'm likely going to get, along with running the TD04 i have in the back room.

Either way good luck from now on lmao just when your boosted go easy on her will ya?

Im not going to go easy on it. I never planned on it. The Legacy will rise again, stronger, faster, and better then before. Go drift into a curb with vape smoke pouring out of your windows.

At least my car works. Also before you pour all that money into a chassis make sure it isn't going to collapse under its own weight.

Guys, guys, calm down! There's enough vegan "chicken" sandwiches to go around!

You guys both live similar lives. One of you crashes into curbs, the other burns out their clutch trying to mount the curb. We aren't all so different after all.

I'll list some classic "Unofficial VStanced Banter" memes to coax you guys to chill out.

The chassis is solid, the quarter panels are what are going out. Still gonna laugh when that curb comes up mighty fast on ya...

Meanwhile, in real life, I got most of the engine torn down today and ready to get pulled out...

Well, I bought another car to drive in the meantime while I get the Lelgacy running again. 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback. 2.5L 5 speed manual, with the cold weather package (heated seats, mirrors, and a block heater) with 171k miles.

When I first layed eyes on it in person.

Gettin it home

Slotted rotors too!

And no I won't modify it, who would modify a factory new 2014 car?

I dont want to put lowering springs onto a factory lifted car lol. I'm gonna get strut spacers, and wheel spacers, raise it a bit and run fatter tires for sand

I'm pulling a good amount of stuff off the L wagon, headlights, Hellas, various brakelight parts (part of the 3rd light doesnt work on Outback) among a few other things, and gonna try to get the Lelgacy running again with another engine, sell it as a whole. I hate to think of the car getting scrapped.

Nah, 2.5 manual, vs 2.2 auto. Too much to do, AND the new one is rust free compared to the old. I'm gonna get a running 2.2 and put it into the old one.
