Today I had some free time so I slapped the coils on the Jetta. Before that, I received a brand new Hydraulic jack and Cross bar from Doge and his shop. If you haven't already, go check his place out, he has awesome deals and great customer service! I had to do the install in the street cause my driveway is too sloped.. the install on the front wasn't too bad. there was the occasional stuck bolt, but nothing a large breaker bar couldn't fix With the fronts on alone, you could tell this was a very nice drop From that came the rears, and these were even more simple than the fronts, more or less just dropped the old assembly and threw in the new stuff And with that she was low! I got some weird camber in the front but nothing that cant be fixed with a proper alignment. the settings haven't been adjusted yet, I am waiting to see if they settle any more. I couldn't wait to hit the streets at my new height. there was minimal rubbing over bumps, I may have to stiffen the dampening a few clicks. a couple of the neighborhood kids saw me pull up at the light at the exit of my neighbor hood and snapped this photo. I am thinking they like it too I pulled off the road during my cruise so I could snap a pic for myself. the car is looking good but it needs to be even lower imo. I finished my cruise off by stopping for oil at the local auto parts store, then came home to change it. Anyone else about this 2.8 life? |
