I'd recommend getting the new beater and then bring the B5 here. It'll be a minimum of 2 weeks so I'm sure you can find the missing components in that time and then we can just keep on working at it. For everything you're looking to do with the car, I'd say it'll probably be about V$1600 when all is said and done for labor and time, if you are the one providing all the parts. Does that sound alright to you?
