Hey, if you want, I'm almost always able to find research information about model years and inflation-adjusted prices for all cars they made, say, more than 10,000 of (and that people actually care about).

Also, Craigslist is a good research source for general pricing guidelines. But that becomes impractical once you start moving outside of the US, because things are locally more or less expensive. (Sometimes even regionally! Lots of cars are more common or cheaper in California than they are here, and vice versa.)

Not really volunteering, though - see also "not enough free time". lol
