28th April, we went to The Angeles Crest Highway, which is a two-lane (one lane of travel in each direction) highway over the San Gabriel Mountains, in Los Angeles County, California. Its route is through the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument and the Angeles National Forest.
That was a trip to have some fun, I took my R34 there since it was the most apropriate from all my cars for that trip.
Later at the peak there is a cottage where we stopped for some coffee and rest and from there we went in groups to the bottom and back to the top.
While me and BigSmoke were sitting and drinking coffee, he said that it would be interesting to put the Diesel V8 from the Silverado in to the Merc and go drift it, since the engine is already built for a lot of torque and it has around 200Hp which is good enough to make it go sideways.....
SoJu said that he would go for some solo runs in his supra due to his Supra being way too powerfull for our cars and that car was fast as hell, in the end I did try out his supra in my R34 on a downhill + uphill stage but it didn't end well for me due to his car being way way better built for touge roads than mine....
I told BigSmoke that we would do it tomorrow when we get back to Oklahoma, Meanwhile RocketBunnyS13 was racing Niatross down the hill in his Impreza for a
bet.
The loser of that race would buy a stake for the winner and would have to refill the winers car with fuel.As it happened Niatross destroyed the Impreza with the E92 335i on the touge which was a spectacular sight to watch.
After that Lagano came back from a race with 11000 RPM,
All of us were following them cause that race was a classic one it was Lagano in the AE86 and 11KRPM in his E36.
It was an intense race all the way untill the mid point of the track where there were 3 consecutive mini harpains in which the inside and outside changes 3 times
Lagano got distracted and he braked early, 11000RPM decided to use that chance and thats what resulted in the outcome....
As it happened Takumi with the AE86 didn't won, somehow 11KRPM managed to overtake him with the E36 in a wide section before a turn.
Lagano got a tone of facebook notifications on his phone when he came to the cottage, but there was one that got his attention. He said that there is an advert on a drifters facebook group that somebody is buying a merc for drifting. We contacted the guy and we talked with him and we sold the car for V$5000 as it was.
So its good bye merc have a nice time with the new owner......
