I got the S14 home last night and stuffed it in between the Porsche and the Miata.    This afternoon, I removed the hood and popped the spark plug wire cover off, because the lettering on it described a DET, not a DE. So now I'm going to work on either repairing or replacing the hood latch. Though an alternative route I can take is switching to racing hood locks.  We'll see...
