Was this risky? Sure. Do I actually care? Nah.
Alllriiiighty... Once I got home from my trip to Palm Springs with the Porsche, I jumped in the Miata and hit the highways with no destination in mind. I ended up in Indio somehow, and, well... It was fun. This thing should be called the neck breaker, which is fitting considering its current open-downpipe setup and the whole "Pepsi Pole" thing. It was a super fun day until I decided that my right foot should be just a little closer to the carpet. Telescoping flag pole + Pepsi can + Miata = Quality shenanigans, right? Wrong. I pulled a huge smokey powerslide past a suspicious looking Dodge Charger. "Oh, of course it's a ghost unit..." I thought to myself as I pushed the SR20 to WOT for the first time, putting a bit of distance between the Charger and I before he was able to flip around and pursue me. As I turned a corner I jammed on the brakes. In the short time I had, I ripped the pole out of its duct-tape mounting "bracket" and collapsed it, tossing it where the passenger seat should be. Flipping my top up and latching it, I dumped the clutch. I turned up my scanner's volume and heard something along the lines of "BOLO Silver Mazda Miata, license plate unknown." It's a good thing I atleast had the foresight to slap some duct-tape over my plate, which by the way @anybody in Indio, does not say "NIBBA" |
