The Corrado is gone. I sold it for $4000, which, is okay considering I paid less than that for everything.
I took a taxi across town last night, to meet a lady from Craigslist who was selling a car. It belonged to her son, before he unfortunately was taken by cancer in the fall of 2015. He had recently done a bunch of work on the car, including a rebuilt RB26DETT and a new front end after the car was mauled by a GMC Sierra. I had initially intended to negotiate the seller down from the $10,000 asking price, but once i learned the Skyline's story that changed. Her son purchased the car in the spring of 2014 with a stock RB26 swap and not much else and had poured his heart and soul into it. She and I talked over coffee before we eventually exchanged cash for keys and documents. I promised her that her son would be proud of what this car will become, and that I would see her around. (Before you get any ideas she couldn't have been younger than fifty.) I slumped into the seat, feeling happy with my purchase, but a bit sad knowing this car's history. It's a beautiful machine, and I'm glad some childish drifter didn't get a hold of it. Who knows what somebody would do to this GTS-T? I'll treat it right, you can count on that. $19,800 - $10,000 Nissan Skyline GTS-T (R32) + $4000 Volkswagen Corrado (SOLD) = $13,800 This post was edited by ThatBoostedGuy (2017-02-06 21:41, ago) |
