Try making the gearing worse (taller gears for less acceleration)?
Also, make sure that the torque curve is similar to what you actually want. If the engine is developing lots of torque, especially at low RPM, it'll probably accelerate faster.

These colors are already calibrated for SLRR.
Trying to real use gear ratios to get as close to real life. Also the torque curve is as close as the real life counterpart I could get. Still with 300hp it's too fast.
